Originally posted by gordan100 I think i've made some progress here. I've removed "guitar sound" at the begining as Richard suggested, but used variation of same melody later in a much different fashion. How is that? Oh, and i'm a bit concerned about overall volume level which i think is pretty low, is it?. Too much bass? |

Originally posted by MSZ Kinda growing on me, I get some of the same problems you have with bass, its probably in the 120hz area mud but sometimes ur better off choosing a new bass because when you start eqing it you lose some of the part which made you choose it in the first place. |
Thanks :} Here is a tiny wip from me, you see I have some bass issue from around same area here as well; Maybe I can fix it.

Originally posted by TranceLover007 Like your overall concept my friend but you will have to pay a bit more attention to your high/mid freq level as this (at least for now) is a bit on bright site and creates this unwanted effect of fatigue. Just my $0.02 Darek |

Helloall,
New user - discovered this forum this weekend and glad I finally got some time to join!
The track is below:
https://clyp.it/agaj0h2a
I'm very new to production and got started on this idea. I want it to be in the genre of uplifting trance. Can anyone please give me some feedback? Is the beginning good? As a listener, are you expecting something else?
I have not done any EQ yet.
Please let me know. Criticism and feedback are very important. The key is in G Major.
Thanks!

Originally posted by Seandroid I decided to make some super weird trap. I made that lead out of a metal bowl. This is obviously pretty early but I'll elaborate on it ![]() |

Originally posted by Richard Butler Sorry guys, it's Friday so you know what that means, feedback time. Getting close to finished, any thoughts on this as I am deffo sending this one out? EDIT> Ive improved it since posting this up earlier. |

Originally posted by evo8 just a quick tip Richard - i NEVER automate level faders for the precise reasons you give instead, if i want to automate volume, i put a Utility on the track and automate the gain on it instead. Surely Cubase has something similar? |

Originally posted by gordan100 Thanks. Yes, i was messing with eq on bass, but i'm not happy with results. Maybe finding another... |

been putting some work into this one, i think it has a clear shot of doing some damage , once i polish it up . any advice/feedback would be great.
Good track
first thing - automate the verb on the leed so it goes dry and wet, don't leave it static#
still listening..........
Ok you will get this signed for sure, its a monster
again just move that verb around when the main lead drops so it's not so static and wet always, otherwise ready and full phat track
So here is my first track featuring Serum synth (as discussed in the thread about Massive). Really a joyous synth to work with.
Here it is on main mid bass duty and some of the plucky sounds.
Anyway, how is the mixing. I've done no mastering for once, as I want to see how mixing is first.
Vocals will be added.

Originally posted by SystematicX1 Richard...dood, this has a ton of potential man. The mix to me sounds low, pre production? Sub sounds great. That Reese could use some accentuating. Really dig the plucks. not to sure about that high freq fill at 1:28. This is a must complete imho |
Hmmm...the lead I don't believe was the issue and personally thought it was a nice added dimension ALONG with the reese.
The reese now has some clarity but think that nastiness was key.
As well, noticing a good amount of ducking on that sidechain, intentional?

Originally posted by Richard Butler I took out that nasty lead you mentioned and made the reese a little louder, and have now got the whole track done but yet to add proper vocals and do any mastering. Note I accidentally left in some stray test vocals by accident Cheers bud |

Originally posted by SystematicX1 Welcome to the boards man... I would say that after listening to this track that you have the right ideas. I would say try spending a little time on your transitions. Add some atmospheric elements into those transitions (sweeps, etc) Work on that kick and yea..EQ will really help. Try and bridge the gap of your higher frequency tones and lower frequencies. As for your composition, it seems there are parts that are a little forced. Maybe the transition work will lend a better melding of the track |
Just would like to know what do you guys think?
I have no specific questions but want to hear your comments
Cheers,
Darek
