Good point. Also, the low end of the kick eats too much. If he was to put it slightly in the back that would open up the spot for some vocals.

Ok I did a lot of work on this now, is the structure weird?
Yet to do the transition from break to drop.

appreciate you are trying to progress and develop this track Rich but i actually prefer the original version :-/

Evo since you posted I've now finished it and even added a washed out verb to the break end as you suggested, repaired the vocals, added some layers to the drop (quiet pads but they just fill the space some), did the transitions.

Is this track good enough to warrant getting in a decent vocalist?

I have worked on drums and added some more progression. I'm terrible at drums so please tell me what do you think...

The bass sounds out of place when the melody kicks in. Overall you could spend a lill' bit more time with the EQing and studying scales

It reminds me of the tunes from the beginning of ASOT's around '04-05

Nice driving quality and sounds authentic as ever

Thanks bros. Sorry it's really messy. Bass is too boomy. Cheers.

SONG STRUCTURE QUESTION. Structure is a weak point of mine.

In terms of a verse / chorus / break structure can you give your thoughts regarding the following track.

The vocals I took from a sample pack, I have more verse vocals to add.

How long should the intro / verse be?
About double what I have here do you think?

Then should the next lot of verse after the chorus be the same length as the intro verse?

This is just bare bones of a track, I want to get structure right first.

SECONDLY - are the vocals good enough to bother finishing this track? Would you layer them etc in the chorus or leave more or less as is?

Arrangement can take time to get right - you just have to listen back to the track (not in your sequencer as you will feel the need to tweak stuff)

then see how it feels - if you feel theres an extra 16 bars in there making things boring then get rid
listen to tracks of a similar nature for ideas also

just on the laptop here but this is sounding quite nice, one problem for me is that kick isnt "knocky" enough to punch through - its a bit too "clicky" - i would try to layer in a kick with a nice punchy attack with this kick

Sounds nice, maybe a little too repetitive.
