i like this overall but the note changes aren't working for me, maybe a different progression would sound nicer?

to me the track sounds better without that, its nice and driving, good work on the drums

edit: thanks for all comments on mine - thinking of setting this one aside for Colors 3 although ill probably have to jack up the BPM a little

Thanks.. and damn. Yeah, that note change sounds sometimes strange to me too... But when someone commented that it's nice i was starting to get hopes that everything is ok

I dont know what you are doing with the bass but its way too rough imho, im thinking you have some sort of fx processor on it thats almost keeping it in check

i really like atmosphere, very dark

Bass is ok - distortion, just about get away with in the first half of the track but its just too much overall, imo

i was aiming for oldschool prog, never quite ends up there :-/

honestly doesn't matter this point, but I'd say the rest of your elements are just not loud enough instead

I'd chose a more 909-closed esque hihat, the current one feels a bit out of place with the rest of the loop, which is quite earthy.

Agree with MSZ. Bigger bass would be nice. After the break it goes into another deep vibe with some stabs while I'd expect something with a bigger feel. I'm a big fan of the anti-climactic approach but it doesn't work for me in this setup. Also the anti-climax feels a too different from the previous parts in my opinion which result in a lack of coherency of the track overall.

it's good mate, maybe notch that open hat down like 2db around 2khz? balances out towards the end of the mix though, overall its nice and warm and full

@rich its a bit hissy in places, like that hat evolve mentioned, also you could low pass the kick a little

mix gets a bit busy as it goes - try to mono some stuff, everything seems to be wide, if you mono one of those lead parts it will fit into the mix better
