Dancing Dude OHIO -- COMING OUT OF THE WINTER HIBERNATION!!!

Hey all OHTA's!!!

Nice to see we finally got a sticky!!! F YA!

Now that we're starting to come out of the deep freeze here Im getting back in the mood for some trance!!! Today it's like 50 and sunny and I gotta tell ya when I found one of my old PVD cd's on the floor in my car it felt like summer!!!

As for this party on March 10th, I'd love to go. I will probably get a few of my friends to go but we'll be looking to meet up with some people maybe before the show for some food and cocktails or something. Is there anything planned for a pre-game party? Maybe we could get KT to stop by ( eh KT ? eh eh? you know you want to!) ? I've never met him and I've never met any of you OH TA's but Im sure that wouldn't be a problem! I'll post a pic or somethin so you can maybe recognize me at the party if you are there....

Speaking of which would anyone be interested in T-shirts for the party? It's still like a few months away and I think we could come up with some sweet shirts. My roommate is a graphic designer and another good friend of mine actually hand makes clothes. So if anyone would be in for that, you could maybe post a pic of some design ideas or describe what you would like to have on the shirt , then I could have my roommate make a design and I'll post it back up on the board. I'd like to keep the costs low, so probably screen printing the shirt with one or two colors would be cheapest. We could probably do something pretty trendy or what not with some kind of Ohio Trance Addict logo on the front then maybe something on the back with all of the dj's in it? ...continued...

...continued...

Anyways, my roommate is really talented on the PC with graphics and what not it wont be a photoshop hack job. We could make something pretty modern/trendy looking pretty easily with only one or two colors so if you have any ideas post pics or links to what you would like to see. I want to aim for $10 per shirt or lower , maybe we could even get that to include shipping. I dont want to make money off this other than maybe throwing my roommate a few bucks for his efforts. I think this would be the best way for us to recognize eachother at the show!! Rep the OHIO TA's !!!!

Oh and sometimes I forget to check back here since Im pretty busy scheduled right now so if you want to email me at [email protected] feel free. ( by the way that is a one next to the a, not an "el" , im not a gal , g and a are initials)

Peace out!

TheCrew - Representing Akron Since 1999!

wooohooo 4 more days!! i got a feeling work is gunna suck all week as i look forward to friday!! i would be down for meeting up somewhere before hand, i am def. going to the next few euro nights.

as far as march goes, trunightlife or anyone else who thinks they can answer this question please help: my brothers 18th birthday is on march 11th... seeing as how he's really been wanting to come to shows with me, do you think they'd give us a hard time if i try to get him in for the march 10th ferry show? would we have to wait to get him in at midnight? it'd be a shame for him to miss KT and ferry corsten in cleveland as his first show over a matter of minutes or hours.

cheers!!

Damn I'm psyched up for this - gonna be a great 3 months, even though it is in the City of the Burning River.

Jam 111 - I think we can make it happen with your brother. You will most-likely get there at what time? Let me know and I will see whats good.

Posted by dittoalex on Jan-26-2006 03:51:

I will wear my No One On Earth t-shirt to every party I go to until I get a "HOLY SHIT, NO ONE ON EARTH!" reaction.

So far I've had 6 people make me stand still so they can read it and then scratch their heads and walk away. Come on, Anjunafans Cleveland

But yeah, KT this Friday for sure.

And I'd be absolutely interested in an OHTA t-shirt as long as it isn't white. Preferably glow-in-the-dark neon green/orange/pink?

Despite the drunk jerkoff who kept trying to pick a fight and kept getting shoo'd off the stage by security (if you're a poster, you have no idea how close you came to a quick faceplant), I thoroughly enjoyed Anthony and KT's sets. My right ear is toasted though for another day or so (I hope!).

Flight 643 ftw~

BTW, I want that mix of the Android Lust tune - can't quite place exactly which one was used, but there was no mistaking the singer's voice - Suffer the Flesh I think it was.

Note to Metropolis: move the smoke machine off the stage plz, thx!

I have never experienced Flight 643 like I did last night. Amazing. At first I couldn't decide if it was 643 or Alt-F4's C:\*.*, silly me.

I agree on the smoke machines. Since they went out and bought a laser they need to make right and go buy an ice machine... and a train horn.

2nd Note to Metropolis: Do not have DJ Frejz close the night.

3rd Note: No cold water in the bathrooms makes you seem like you don't care about the scene .

Awesome show last night! I had a lot of fun, there was a fair amount of people there, but I'd like to see a lot more.

Thanks for the picture and CD KT! I guess we also have the same sense of style, we have the same shirts lol, I didn't notice that until I got home and saw the picture

I think Euro night would be much more sucessful if they didn't actually play "Euro" music, but that's my opinion. Fresz runied the whole vibe after he trainwrecked 10 minutes after KTs set. That just made me want to leave immediatley.

Overall it was a great night, with great music, can't wait for the upcoming events. It deff beats driving 400 miles to Toronto to party...

Posted by dittoalex on Jan-28-2006 22:54:

Hey now now, play nice.

Fresz is here to stay and we have to thank the wonderful people at Metropolis for bringing us such great nights.

Plus the Euro crowd is being educated in terms of real music.

Posted by Tuis on Jan-29-2006 01:10:

When Anthony started playing towards the housey side I thought he was setting KT up for a housey set, but no =( Still great, but part of me was hoping to hear some more of that.

Fresz is cool, He played a really good set after Darude, I just disagree on his music selection. Then again, it is Euro Night afterall. Metropolis is great, it's the only club I can go to and have a great time, unlike most top 40 hip hop and rap clubs around here. Mad props to them for hosting killer events in the past, and amazing upcoming ones! I just wish some other clubs would step up and follow in their shoes.

Angry propellers for getting Mike up on stage and showing the man some respect. smiles to him.

rgr that... i was hoping for more housey dirty funky KT... I MISS KT's CLOUD9 MONTHLY! all he played @ c9 was thick funk... anyways anthony tore it up, the last 30-40 mins of his mix was the great... i enjoyed KT's mix as usual but i was also hoping for more of a housey sounding mix. perhaps we'll get more of it when he opens for ferry great time though, cheers to mike from tru and metropolis for starting an awesome monthly!

i left as soon as fresz took the stage... my ears were fried from standing in front of the right channel stack, but the first track he dropped really didn't appeal to me anyways lol

When I first saw KT @ Oakey+Ferry @ Moda, he sounded quite funky. I wasn't really feeling that genre back then. I can't wait for Ferry, though.

Should have waited 10 more minutes for Fresz's little mishap that had me and my crew running out of the club

Live Sets!!!

Where are the new ones? I mean come on the Live Sets section is lookin pretty weak? Does anyone know how to go about updating it? Or is it just at random the site owner puts something up there?

I would really really really like to hear the set from Godskitchen @ Air by Ferry Corsten NYE 2005 !!! *hint* *hint*

Any info on acquiring live sets would be appreciated!

Peace Out !!

Hey all,

I just wanted to say thanks for the great time I had last weekend in Cleveland. Cleveland has quickly become my second home and i am very greatfull for the energy and excitement i experience from the crowd whenever i am in town.

Tuis & Jam III, sorry we couldnt explore the funkier progg side i can be known for playing. As you know i adjust my sets accordingly to what kind of room/crowd i play for. Cloud 9 is my favorite venue in the country to drop the dirty house beats... but Metropolis is just golden for the big room sounds and also felt the majority of the crowd was definately up for some large room feeling.
Im looking to get back to Cloud 9 again soon for an intimate set... I will keep you posted as always

See you guys in March with Ferry!

Cleveland needs a great resident DJ like you! Can't wait for the Ferry Corsten show! It's going to be crazy!

I can't wait for this weekend either, DittoAlex and I are going to hit up The Guvernment for Ultra Spin 9!
