Just do what the people on beatport top 30 do. Stick to an exact formula and interchange the few elements.

I agree about the bass not working. I like the idea of it but it doesn't shine through. To indistinct/muddy. The track is very good, just get the bass right. Has something changed in your set up? It seems you have had some trouble with the low end in the last couple of tracks.

Just a short, simple clip because I want some opinions on my mix. How does this sound to you? Do the kick and bass sound ok or maybe there's too much subbass?

I wouldn't get it any louder. likely not any room for a good sounding pad with it like that but you may be going for a different vibe. make sure your lead sound doesn't eat too much low end

Kick is way too boomy, for trance you want punchy and tight, not boomy. Sounds like you might need some new kick samples. Everything else seems okay to me though.

i remember years ago Steinberg had this vst called The Grand which they supposedly sampled every key on a grand piano at different velocities

looks like it's still around

Maybe because it's, well.. fake. I'm still willing to try out new piano sounds though. The Grand looks nice... especially if you want real sounding piano. It seems like a main selling point of pianoteq is how small it is. The Grand will be multiple gigs, no doubt.

The kick is all wrong for this. Keep trialling them.

a bit dry no? could do with some nice reverb imo - the sound is very mid heavy as well, i think it could do with some cuts in the low-mids
