Yeah, i'm not sure if i can make a dirty electro bassline. But you can send me one

This is my progress so far (no dirty bass included).

If somebody wants to play with this you can download the synth track here (123BPM)

Its starts well and now it needs evolution in the second halve

Maybe this is done, not sure

I like how break parts sounds and that bass tube you use there. But the rest is missing something.

This is the best thing I've ever made

Sean, dig this as its different. Not your usual track that I am used to however, I must disagree with you. IMO this is not your best.

I admittedly kind of expect people here to disagree with me as it's essentially a pop song. But it's unquestionably my best vocal performance and most accessible work.

I should have clarified, my reply was based on style. Your production is always top notch. I guess I am just used to you doing dubstep or bass =OP

Yeah, it's a pop song all right.

Sometimes you start with one idea and end up with a completely different idea.

I like sounds and melodies, mix sounds good on my headphones. Love the fluffy sounds.

This is rework of a recent track. Didn't hear it on monitors yet.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on May-11-2017 06:43:

Some EQ/level adjusting needed, but otherwise it sounds fine.

Posted by MSZ on May-11-2017 21:14:

pretty solid prog breaks there mysteryman, are you using distortion on the percs?

I use distortion on everything.

Posted by Richard Butler on May-12-2017 13:00:

Mrmystery I like the melodies and synth sounds but I think you could use better, slightly less robotic drums tbh.

Maybe layer what you have with some nice live loop and then mess with the hats so as to give plenty of variation over 16 bars?

Posted by Mr.Mystery on May-12-2017 15:02:

There's already two live loops in there

Anyhoo, I've already varied the drums and added some fills and hits since that snippet.

Posted by SystematicX1 on May-15-2017 00:21:

began this last night, not really sure where it's going or what its trying to be just some cool sounds from the notch filters.
Might need to rethink some of the lowpass automation on percussion.
Intro needs work and the ending of this was actually the original idea I started with and ended up with this so I am keeping it around for maybe a 1/2 time break

Congrats!

Here's a bit of a different take on the same track. The beat is a bit clunky atm, but it'll get sorted.

SC

I want to eat that bassline. The plucky instrument in the background is a bit too harsh while not clear at the same time.
