Any of you tried ripping the vocal from a K-pop song & remixing into a trance number?

No, any singing in trance genre imho ends up in 99% as the ultimate cheesy trash

Posted by Mel David on Oct-04-2018 13:02:

Not true. One of my absolute favourite tracks ever in any genre is Silence - Delerium.

I'm just really annoyed by the popularity of K-Pop. It's just asianized US pop music to me that I can't understand, despite being asian myself, and a lot of it sounds dated. But hey, if you make a K-Pop trance number you'll have millions of new fans...possibly.

Not sure if that Delerium song could fit into trance. I like this one

still, that does not change my opinion that vocal trance is 99% trash

Ha 'Never' is the one I have tonight ripped the bass and drums out of and am in process of 'improving'. All the tracks needed work, I've just Never to finish now. Will update on SC soon.

Possibly the best groove I've come up with

I don't like the vocals but it does groove well, that fm pluck sound fits in nicely

Posted by Mel David on Oct-07-2018 14:36:

Whenever I hear house music I expect to hear those high dramatic strings but since you also do drum & bass, I don't know why you didn't go for a breakbeat sort of vibe as well instead of 4/4 floor.

Dua's new song Electricity gets really awesome at the end with the breakbeat. Before that it's just standard house fare really, but done elegantly.

this is version 2 of the track I've been working on, currently on version 3

Yep still good

the bass is excellent as is that dark rimshot. Loverly tension and cool synths.

Are u looking to get this one signed?

It's funny you mention breakbeat as I've had an aversion to it always. Dunno just never sounded authentic for me, like an ok guitar band white drummer trying to be black n funky but missing the mark.

We always went and got a beer when the club played any breakbeat.

I go off and on with house, I do like the heartbeat 4/4 myself, simple but hypnotic for me.

Thanks for the feedback people. I was after a simple stripped down house of the type I feel plays out well, but I have work yet to do.

thanks Rich - I dunno, who is gonna sign that? I wouldn't have thought it was anywhere near loud enough tbh

I would have liked a nice touch of room/ambience reverb on the plucked synth but that's personal preference

Posted by gordan100 on Oct-16-2018 23:38:

Thanks Paul, i have added some reverb on plucks and shrink a bit stereo width on vocal.

really like the supersaw type synth that comes in later, the vocals im not keen on, plus they seem too separate from the rest of your instruments

Thanks for listening. Both synths are from "T-Force Alpha Plus" free vst, supersaw type synth is a preset named "JP-8K Pad".

Yea I too like that super saw after 2 minutes.

The plucky synth from the start has some off timing I cant quite enjoy. It may be the delay on it?

Are the vocals you?

Plucky synth has delay on it, true.

Yeah, vocals are me
