So I guess in this WIP the bass is oscillating way too bad, yes?

Yeah, sounds awkward in places, like it has a problem with timing

Posted by MSZ on Dec-14-2018 16:31:

you could try to turn it into a special sound maybe. Just a brainstorm, maybe activate a saturator or eq so it doesnt sound off on that one part and shape it a bit, maybe have it glide longer. the wip sounds nice.

Posted by Richard Butler on Dec-14-2018 20:25:

Cheers guys I'm thinking it sounds a bit off, I will try your idea MSZ

Hows this - not the style I'm that good at. Just a WIP

Posted by gordan100 on Dec-15-2018 02:57:

Honestly, Rich, not the best from you imo. But maybe its just that i'm not keen on that style.

Is this worth spending more time?

Posted by MSZ on Dec-15-2018 16:33:

yea you gotta finish that first one, has that classic sound everyone likes.

Thanks for listening! One down

I worked more on the ambient one. Not sure in arrangement. Also not sure if i should add drums at all.

Sounds clean, I've been listening to tony anderson frequently on youtubes lately, a few good ambient pieces from him to be found.

not really a track just tinkering with this bass to see if it works, still unsure.

I think this first 30sec is something you can really work with, nice idea so far.

Cheers,

Darek

I run this couple of times and still can put my fingers around it - from one perspective, I really like this unwinding melodic development but from another one I don't quite like this plucky bell sound with dissonant effect on it, maybe just me but I would take this away or replace with something more suitable for all those surrounding sounds.

Cheers,

Darek

Deep and wide sound - it is going to take a lot of space from your freq but has some nice tone to it.

This is my latest product of few hours spent in studio today - it is more viby and chill at some moments so you guys may not like it lol but anyway I will take my chance - (Still work need to be done in some parts).

Cheers,

Darek

Thanks, i'll check it out.

Not sure about this, imo bass feels repetetive in a bad way

I like it Darek, nice work

you made that in a few hours? some crazy skill if you can pull it off that fast. not a fan of the staccato synth @ 1:05, kind of kills the track with cheapness but other than that sounds slick.

hehe I returned my jbls, wasnt a fan of the sound signature, wasnt fun to mix on. shouldn't buy such things without listening to them first.

back to mixing on my boombox for now.

this bass sequence seems easier on the ears, I think I can develop this one into a track when I feel inspired. I keep going for the easy notes though, its not very appealing im sure.

It's much better now! Shame for the jbls

Nice big sound and tension building

Now for a big breakdown...

I've added arp at 1:35, not sure yet if its working. Hope there will be no unpleasant surprises when i wake up

Posted by MSZ on Dec-17-2018 08:41:

probably works depends on your taste, not too much a fan of shrilly synths but I really like that synth at 2:24. I say keep your synths deep, the pads will compliment them in tonality in the end, up to you though.

Now since you have all your sounds in place already, will be a good time to start to work on your drums - make this more vibrant, moving or breathing which will require your drums do have more variations - you are getting closer and closer Gordan, nice work

Cheers,

Darek

Yep, agree, part one is nice so you have to start on part two like Richard suggested - so far so good Mac.
