Thanks man. I am in the progress of doing a 8 song EP. I wanted to do kind of a concept piece. Kinda like Nero's Welcome Reality. Atmospheric but dirty. I may use that as an intro track

I know its not much but the main focus is the delay on the basses. Thanks to Evo for inspiring me to make my own kick so that's a first, anyhow here it goes.

Sounds like a fairly simple roll. Like how the sub comes right end. You can almost achieve the same thing but more pronounced either gating or sidechain compression

Yeah, I used a lot of side chain with light to medium compression on it. I just started to use LFO-Tool simultaneously and getting the hang of it.

Worked on this awhile ago, wish I still had the composition. I lost the project file awhile back.

Some good elements in this, I am guessing it ends during a breakdown? It is pretty well mixed, and the sound design of the different parts is pretty good. I don't quite feel a cohesiveness to the song, and a strong direction, but still some good elements to work with.

I really like this, I downloaded it and going to do a little edit/remix version, haha.

Didn't spend too much time yet, but here is an idea for an edit on your track gordan:

Got something cool going on in there - just need some more attractive development be added to it and you could call it good

I like this musically, a nice journey. I think the sound design and engineering could be higher quality, and more epic to match the music that is being played.

That is really interesting. Did you find stems for the different parts, or is the plugin isolating each part and creating a separate channel, or such? I am not understanding exactly how you did this.

Posted by Trancelover03591 on Jul-18-2019 03:21:

About 3 years ago after 5+ years of spending ~15-20 hours a week trying to get professional at music production I realized I just don't have the skill set/mindset to be a pro producer/mixing engineer (and I think this is the case for the vast majority of those pursuing a career in music, tbh). However, I feel like I have professional level songwriting/arrangement abilities as well as other strengths that lend to being a music artist.

With that said, I have been doing a lot of behind the scenes preparation the past few years and things are starting to finally begin. I just want to be transparent and honest about my songs from here on out. Here is my debut track, which I wrote and worked on with Anske:

Posted by Mel David on Jul-18-2019 06:12:

I use Google search to find remix stems. There's a few Russian sites out there that host stems.

This might be the site I got mine from but I can't remember https://remixpacks.ru/load/2/rnb-1-0-3762/

I've also got an app called XTRAX STEMS that splits audio into three parts [vocals, music, drums]. But that's never going to be as good as the masters.

I just wanted to make a more modern-sounding mix of that ABC song. Also the original mix lacks reverb.

Thank you. Merely a wip , nothing more than the idea put down. After all, isn't this what this thread is about? =O)

nice melodies n stuffs caleb, not a fan of the production style but I dig the track overall.

combination of no motivation to make music + trying to improve the only wip I have thats worth improving. Not skilled enough to write a good breakdown, maybe I'll stumble upon something, this one should be cleaner maybe, but its still a bit busy. no has monitors.

This idea is really cool a specially that was develop in 5 min lol - I think would be worth it to spend some extra time on adding additional sounds/melodic ideas to it - also dynamics of this WIP could be improve substantially - just my $0.02

Cheers,

Darek

hey Caleb, very boomy sounding here on the focals, I think you could cut a lot of that bass out for a better mix

Check out my edit of Gordan's WIP if you want to hear a muddy mix haha.

So you can make other stuff Caleb, I'm impressed, like more of this style better anyhow yeah I agree with Evo, lower that bass.

Finally found some variation in my basses, not just your typical Anjuna roller, more like starecase and added a nice Pad.

this is my favorite track so far..

I actually like the sound of this but I think to complete it, it needs a different bassline as it kinda spoils the groove for me when it comes in

Posted by evo8 on Jul-31-2019 21:43:

trying this one, possibly too bassy?

In some ways ...yes. That mid range sub could probably be taken down a few. Kick seems to have this resonance at the tail. Not sure if cutting it would help that or maybe a different one. Dig the vibe though

Yeah, I agree, but much better than the standard Anjuna roller at least, now I can experiment with different variation all while using the same notes. I feel a lot more comfortable now switching it up.

Sounds even on my 7'' Adams A7X's, no too little, nor too much.
