thanks peeps - I actually deleted as soon as I listened on my hifi - the bass is just poking out way too much and the kick seems a bit too heavy, so low end needs some work

Posted by Hides in Shadow on Aug-04-2019 12:34:

Not my best but its a finished piece.

My first movie trailer. You can't edit the pans & transitions in this iMovie theme template so if looks like I'm constantly panning onto C&K's boobs, it's unintentional--I would have showcased their sexy legs.

That's not bad, I'm liking it man, it looks legitimate to me holmes..

This seemed a bit lacking to me. That mid section was nice , not to fond of that kick selection and it seemed less lethargic. The minute of atmosphere at the end didn't hold up imo.
Not your best piece Juan but appreciate the creativity. I know there is something in you better

----------------------------------------

I am so up and down on this track. Almost ditched it and am trying to work it out and it "seems" like there is an improvement. Undecided if I want to keep that kick

Thanks for your input System...I was working my way around a new a daw on this one, I used bitwig. I think I just might give up on making my own kicks, they always come out like shite I guess. I didn't complete the melody, I'll finish the next time with the chord change I mentioned earlier. Good news is that I moved this project back to Logic and we'll see how it goes from there, cheers man and thanks again...

I'll get to yours in a bit.

----------------------------------------

Imo, i think you need a new kick to complement the first in your intro in order to be seamless. At 1:24 is where you can hear the track losing its power from where it started... That is all that i think that needs doing, everything else is fine with me...

I like it. Chords reminds me on Chemical Brothers - Star guitar

You are finally beyond intro Kick is too boomey, but otherwise it's pretty nice... end is a bit weird

Posted by gordan100 on Aug-25-2019 23:34:

Is this boring or what? Well, at least mix is not that bad as usual

This is version with different kick and bass

Posted by SystematicX1 on Aug-28-2019 01:36:

I like the second version better, it seems more suited.
I would say for the first version that the distorted bass that you used was pretty funky. Pop that up with a different kick and progression/tempo and you could really hit a nice groovy tone

🧜🏼‍♀️ So won't you slide away back to the ocean. I'll go back to the city lights.

🤠 Obviously not my photos or music, but I think I've cleverly visualised Miley's new song. I don't know how to embed Twitter media here. YouTube won't let me share this one. The audio gets blocked.

Phil, I would still work on it as I believe this track has lots of potentials but you over doing your high-end and this is why your whole energy (dynamics) is not there anymore - try to find the right balance in freq before you will move on to the other part of your track.

It has been some time for me to post anything over here but I'm still producing and having fun with it lol - my latest WIP (some part of the track) which I'm currently working on (one of few lol). This production is more on Electro-EDM side:

Cheers,

Darek

Couples of Nu-Funk/Disco ideas in work also lol - I know that this should be more on Trance side but at the moment I have few concepts from different styles lol

Bothe of those ideas require some more development and tweaking with EQ lol - have fun guys.

Cheers,

Darek

Thanks Phil, it is funny how some time everything just turn right man lol - at the beginning I never know what kind of track I will come up with but usually my first step is to get some basic drums loops going on and then work on melodic chords progression with slowly adjusting BPM till everything sounds just right for me - it is some goofy way (for some) but I like to work that way man, also right from start I'm paying extra attention to balance and dynamics.

Cheers,

Darek

For me that dance thing (DCH Blank Startup File2) goes too much on a cheesy side later

It's a cover of Felix track i guess

So, it seems to my ears that there is a big stereo separation issue.
Almost like everything is panned odd.
Dig the concept, very airy and atmospheric. The vocal shot seems like it has a bit to much delay or verb on it. I'd actually suggest going mono on that as it seems to conflict with the already stereo'd out harmonics.

-----------------------

Working this little chill d&b track in about 20 minutes. Haven't done much but think it has some potential.
Needs some mids for sure and will probably throw in a hook somewhere

This sounds peng mate, I think if could have some more clean sections too without the wall of sound that could give a lovely contrast

Thanks you guys on the feedback. Totally agree, it was a quick work through and I feel better about the track so...guess we will see where it goes

Maybe you should try to start with the main part of the track and then go to intro and progress development

Heyah, much better than mine that's for sure. You got all the warmth that I need and want. Goob Job Gordan. What I learned the hard way is that for my genre I would pick a kickdrum with the clearest highs and deepest low end which will resulted in my wip, I now look at the big picture before i proceed in choosing which base drum. Will be back...
