I pop in every now again ninja style...
But this one made me dig up my login details to post. *thumbs up*...Sounds nice overall and shouldn't mess with it. Liked the rich verby backdrop, lots of nice depth, overall a nice, rich sound (no pun...).
Liked how much tension that build had for how smooth it was too. Good use of filters/FX there bud!
Only criticism from me : Either that pushed rev-pad or whatever bit crush / distortion FX being used @ 1:52 might be adding some unintentional clip / artifact garbage at that spot...Might also be a byproduct of SC too, *shrug*. Was really the only sore spot that stuck out to me.
Will have to give it a listen on the nearfields in the mornin' when people ain't sleepin'. (-Edit- Did this, the popping isn't as noticeable...but it's still there...Pretty minor tbh.)
Also still alive, added HS8's (<3) and a bunch of other crap to the arsenal, still pluggin' away at stuff and preening old stuff with new gear.
Career been all-consuming...but it's what's gonna get me the studio I want
.
K, bye o/.

Thank you in advance. |
I agree with Richard on this one (and Thanks for the reply on my last one) this one is pretty on point. I don't think I would change a thing.

I like this one sounds a lot like something Pryda would make i'd choose a different sound for the bass but this is personal preference i sometimes don't like the bass sounds on Pryda tracks and they're recognized as music jewels.

Oh.My.God. Good to see you back, Rodri!
Listening on my laptop, so I can't really comment on the kick (sounds fine though). The ending does seem to sorta fizzle out and lose energy, but seems like it would fit fine in a mix.

Pryda? Well damn..lol that has got to be the nicest compliment I have ever received. I don't actually try to model my music after Eric but he is for SURE a HUGE influence on me. Appreciate that reply man.
As for the track...I am getting a little wide on stereo separation and need to bring that back in I think. This was an earlier mix and I have tightened up immensely since.

Hey cryo, i see the regular lurkers around... nice. I still use a pack you made of open hats...
This is my new one if someone can suggest some changes before polishing.

Hi Rodri,
Judging the time span on a reply to this track I am assuming you have it already finished, sorry about that. It seems our board is getting a little lazy on the new year =OP
As for the critique on this track. Your arrangement has some very progressive tones to it. I very much like the pads and the "ohhs" balance. Sounds lush.
The Arp is nice on this but almost sounds out of place imo and I am one of those who are always saying "Throw An Arp on it". It just seems almost like the composition of notes make it seem "circusy". Especially the second and third root notes. Not sure if you are trying to follow the base notes as compensation but it renders it almost...off.
Dig the bass and tonality of the production. Has some nice areas in the mix that are just really pleasant sounding.
Overall, I appreciate the production on this track it just sounds a little wonky to me.
--------------------------------
Pretty much done with this one, need a final mix and master so the volume is a little low. Could use some production feedback if needed or what not.

Whats up ya'll! Bout damn time you guys start posting tracks, jeez. This isolation HAS to draw out some influence somehow, right?
Glad to see ya back gents, now to it...
Pandemix!! LOL Love that and seems suitable.
Dig this Richard, very pulsing and a direct punch. I would say that if there was anything that I could critique is on that kick. At first I didn't feel it was a good tone but changed my opinion. It isn't that it is not a good tone but rather it needs another element, it needs that big huge booming sub underneath. Add that and a solid mix and you have got a really nice techno piece there.

Hey Gordan!
This track has a good idea in form. I would like to mention that the Arp is very prevalent here when it feels like it should be more underlying as an accompaniment. In ways it would appear that your bassline is the leader of this piece and the Arp is kind of taking up his space.
Curious if there is any sidechain compression on your bassline with that kick. I highly suggest that as it would probably sit a little better in the mix and make that more of a pronounced tone (and will probably bring that kick out more to)
Overall good stuff dood!

Has nice vibe to it man and I would definitely finalize it with your main focus on area of the dynamics, let me know if this make any sense so I can point you in the right direction.
Cheers,
Darek

My one of the few WIP at the moment
This is my latest WIP work in the area of Funk/Nu (also for Phil to see where the dynamics level should be).
Cheers,
Darek

Thanks guys for the listen. I am going to come right out and say that I totally know what you guys are referring to,and you are totally right. The issue I have is literally based on monitors I believe. I don't have any and what I am using is well..lol what you hear. Crap..lol
Or, would you disagree and say there are things I can do in helping my mixes without monitors

I personally don't use monitors much, only now and then during a track, I just like producing on little Logitech computer speakers which I know a couple of big pro's also do.
A/B yours against some current electronic pop tracks - u just need a bit more 'peak' as my sons would say

Hi Phil,
I also don't care as much as I should about producing and mixing on my speakers man, I got so use to work on headphones and for so long that I don't really feel that I need them (at least at those two stages of production). Mastering is completely different beast but I let professionals handle it lol.
Cheers,
Darek

hey Rich, was waiting for the hammer to drop at 1 minute but you saved it for later, I would have went full beans from the start, I like the stabs but maybe too many and slightly poking out of the mix??
3:30 is where it takes off properly, the hat could be a bit more punchy, like some 909 mid
that crazy synth, it would be cool if you dropped it out a bit earlier - I'm being critical, nice track!

Cheers bud, ha ha I actually had a lot more stabs and trimmed them out, I think I'm done with this track now but many thanks for the feedback brother.

Hiyo, said the random lurker that comes and goes...
Hope y'all are doin' well during all this global nonsense. Good to see the creative juices are still flowin'.
Still at it on this end...strayed a bit from trance...but having more fun with break-beat, custom sound design and putsing around with more vocal elements...thought I'd drop by, say hi, leave a WIP and disappear again
.
Oh,and leave a thanks, for all the brutally honest feedback some of you have given me in the past. Listening back through a couple tracks when I first started...Yeesh. Sorry about that. Anyway. o/

🐻 Don't know where I'm going with this. Just really like the cowbell. Could use some dialog or vocals.

Christopher Walken approved. Mix seems a little stuffy, could use moar kick (can barely perceive kick). Could benefit from moar transitional audio cues, and a main focal element to really bring the whole thing to life. Cowbell probably sticks out a wee bit too much for me.
Like the crunchy vibe and sound selection though.

🐻 Thanks for the feedback. I mixed the track on Senny HD 280s which tend to exaggerate the bass. Closed ear headphones not so good for mixing unless just DJing. Also ear fatigue, aargh!
