We have the 'sexmuseum' it's kinda fun It's 200 meters from Centraal Station. Lots of things to see!
Just walk through it. Enough to see in Amsterdam.

Against the midtown you got: 'n deep 'n dance.
At little streets in the big street you have Rhythem import, and Groove Collection. At the Zeedijk you have Outland records.

Thanks for all your help so far, but I really do want to know about the Ferry Corsten concert web page. Which fee I'll have to pay just to see Ferry, and if it's sold out, or if I can get tickets in advance, or what I'd have to do to see him.

Also, what do drinks cost in clubs in Holland? Like for a beer, simple mixed drink (rum + coke), or more complex drink (long island iced tea, etc). Just trying to plan financially.

Thanks!

Posted by apri_peel on May-12-2005 06:42:

um, dont buy rum and coke at kingdom, it'll cost you 9 euro

Posted by New Wave on May-12-2005 10:38:

It's kinda expansive. Usealy we drink at home before the party. Mixed drinks are on average 4 a 5 euros. Beer is 2. Ice tea is same as Cola and stuff, also 2 euros.

Such an expensive place, a glass of beer 2.50, bottle of cola 2,75

Kingdom is overpriced

Posted by New Wave on May-12-2005 16:32:

All clubs are expansive. Only bars are a little lower.

Depends on which city you're visiting. Big cities will have open shops but don't execpt too much.

Trawled through the last 20 odd pages off this hoping for some information on Dance Valley.

I have flights booked arriving in the Dam at 21.30 Friday night. Planning in staying in a hostel friday night then going to Dance Valley on Saturday. Flight home at 10.25 Sunday morning so I've got a few questions.

How do you get from Amsterdam to Dance Valley, i heard there was some kind of train service.

What time will DV be on on the Saturday.

I've been to a few festivals here in the UK and I presume DV is quite similar in the fact beers and food are expensive, mobile phone signal is rubbish, big queues to get in first thing?

What's it like leaving because obviously we have this flight at 10.25 and dont want to miss that.

Will hostel accomodation book up early for this? Of course amsterdam is big but im not sure of the demand from DV although i suppose alot will be camping.

Oh, one last question.

Will i have fun????? :P

One more thing, can you recommend any decent hostels/cheap hotels near the airport. must provide linen and towels as the plan is to travel light.

Thanks

Take the train from Amsterdam Central Station to Amsterdam Sloterdijk (5 minutes, runs every 5 minutes or so, cheap), from there buses will send you to the DV terrain.

Dunno exactly, probably from 11ish.

True, except for the entrance queues which are mostly pretty short.

Festival ends at 12, leaving the festival site and ending up at Amsterdam Central Station will not take more than an hour, hour and a half at most.

Not quite sure, but since the majority (which is Dutch) does not spend the night in Amsterdam there should be plenty of room left in hostels. It never hurts to book early though. I'm not aware of many people camping in the neighbourhood though.

All hotels and even some hostels (I think) provide linen and towels. You should ask JP for cheap recommendations.

that's early uk festivals normally go on to 6 or 7 am. Does it finish pretty much dead on 12 or tend to over-run a little bit?
