How was it?

Posted by 72hrpartyanimal on Nov-19-2018 14:13:

yeah. Any pics from the party?

What is going on in LA for new year's eve? I saw Sasha is spinning somewhere and the Union Station party. Anything else I missed?

Posted by 72hrpartyanimal on Dec-06-2018 17:52:

i think Markus Schulz is playing an all nighter at Avalon.

Other than that, I haven't really paid any attention to NYE. We're going to Adriatique at Lot 613 on 12/29/2018. I try to avoid NYE if I can.

I will likely be at the big Kaiser Permanente NYE bash, but up here in SF.

(I'm having a kid, scheduled delivery for NYE...unless he decides he wants out earlier )

Yup, Sasha is playing the Belasco theatre downtown. Not sure about the venue or the promoter but venue is apparently brand new.....

It's Minimal Effort and they've been doing parties for a couple of year. Belasco is an old school theater that's was remodeled maybe 6 - 7 years ago. It's located right down the street from the Mayan. I haven't been there in a while but what I recall was that it was very nice. multiple rooms n shit. Minimal Effort and Desert Hearts have thrown parties there for the past few years.

What years were you in DC Mebot? I lived there 2007-2011. We might even have mutual friends in the scene depending on when you were there.

Wow good for Clovis! I know back in the day in the CoR he would post his sets. Sometimes he would listen to my sets Saturday nights when I spun on my college radio station. I would give all the TAs shout-outs. It was a fun time.

Also I am posting here because I used to live in the Washington DC/Northern VA area but now live out here in Seattle. I still go out pretty regularly to The Underground if anyone here goes.

WOW! I just logged in for the first time in 5 years.....

I was obviously never a super well known member around here, but thought I'd chime in anyways and say it's great to see where a lot of people ended up.

I have been very consistently (40-60 events a year) playing in San Diego, LA, OC area - but it's corporate gigs and weddings with the occasional nightclub. You can call me a sell-out I suppose, but the DJ'ing is a complete second income and keeps my wife with the kids. Oh yeah, married, two kids 4 and 6.

When I very first joined here I was in my early 20's, single - crazy to see where life takes you, but so many of us are somehow still here. Addicts indeed!

I remember you yo! Congrats on the family. Several of us have families as well. Glad to know I have an emergency wedding to DJ to recommend to friends. Although now that I think about it, most of my friends are married now I guess we'll need something for baby showers!!

Good seeing you 72, Thrax, and all the old school Droogers at Culprit Sessions this last Sunday @Apotheke bro. Such a awesome nostalgic night took it back to the pre social media days, that blood wolf moon, venue, music, and train backdrop was epic!

Yup still kicking and adulting hard! Hope you and the rest of the TA west coast family are doing well!

Mentioned this to Woody a couple years ago, every time I listen to the classics, I still think of all the good times back in the day with this crazy crew .

Yo Paul good to hear from you man! I remember back in '05/'06 when we went to Guitar Center Sherman Oaks and I bought my first Pioneer DJ mixer. I found all the extra spare knobs too recently lol. Have only had to get it serviced once on one channel had some crackling noise on it still sounds pristine going through a Zoom H4n. Remember Groove Riders Records on Ventura Blvd. They used to bring the latest talent and locals play daytime sidewalk parties outside the store on weekends.
