Embedded players only. - And no fucking auto-play ffs. 4. Don't keep posting the same track over and over again with minor slight changes. - It's not what this thread is for. This is where you post ideas you're not sure you should finish, or tracks you need feedback if "the bass is pumping enough?" or "are the percs sizzling?". Update your original post with a second player if you've done alterations, but keep it to two players pr post, or else this page will turn into loading hell from 1995. Norms to follow Spectators are encouraged to comment as well, and if the newest track posted already has been commented on, you are free to pick whichever you like to comment on, if you're gonna post a WIP. But has it been there longer than a week it's usually turned into a finished song by then, so keep comments to freshly posted songs. Maybe it'll die out, but it's bound to be a better place to showcase your unpolished turds than the MP Promo subforum. You wouldn't hang an unfinished picture in a gallery, would you? Same goes here. |

Originally posted by Beatflux Don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you made this track in garageband. |

Originally posted by Rodri Santos I think i know what you mean but despite it's simple and childish sounding (like super mario theme) has a lot of work behind it, more than a lot of my previous tracks with almost 30 automations ongoing. In fact all commercial music sounds like this (and thats why i chose similar sounds) Calvin Harris - I need your love main riff sounds like a baby piano for example and it's a very big tune. I think the main problem is that here on TA very few people listen to real mainstream music (which is acceptable i wouldn't if i didn't dj) However i polished the bass and risers which was what made some sections awkward |

Originally posted by Beatflux You have noob ears, so you think your shit sounds like the pros. It sounds like you used really familiar presets, the track sounds very thin, and your writing is pretty basic. The harris song is very full mix and instrumentation wise, and everything sounds processed. There's a ton of background instruments that come in and just keep the song moving along, it couldn't really survive just on the vocals alone. |

Originally posted by TranceLover007 Yep, but I'm still here lol - it is all good man, some will like your stuff and some will not - this is part of today's music struggle. Cheers mate, Darek |

Originally posted by Rodri Santos About the familiar presets it is not the case and you surely would fail to reproduce how many synths are playing at once and how many oscillators involved in them. |

Originally posted by Rodri Santos I disagree about the noob ears because i've been listening to several genres for several years |

Originally posted by Rodri Santos i simply know when something is tight and when something it isn't. |
do you seriously think i'd sample that? Anyway...
Yes. It's that complex

Originally posted by Deillon I don't see anything complex going on? But I don't see a point in arguing here, lets drop this and continue with music? |

Originally posted by Rodri Santos And this nearly finished track and last mainstream tune for a while. |

Originally posted by Raphie So I got my cirklon and being more or less DAW less, here is a first Jam getting to know all the specifics, it's all live work so very dirty and loose feel, but going quite deep (when you're into it) quite repetitive with subtle nuances, which, you appreciate, or not ![]() |

Originally posted by MSZ Pretty curious how this mix is translating |

Originally posted by meriter im planning on releasing these two tomorrow and could really use some last opinions on the mix, specifically the low-end, i said this before but all i have to monitor is kinda broken sony headphones, the foam is fucked up so i get different bass response depending on where they are sitting here are the two tracks, i know they are weird but any advice would be great and dont be afraid to suggest like +/- 0.5 db adjustments, looking at you raphie. I was just going to upload the 24 bit wav and let people download from soundcloud |
put this together today, all opinions welcome as always! thanks
Rodri I like that piece, except its too static, needs to keep moving, like maybe some white noise plastered in some side fields and more release I dunno. Also, I dont think that alternating bass synth is working in the track.
Evo8 sounds gr8 as always, maybe the kick is a little too heavy for my tastes.

Originally posted by Rodri Santos Better than before but the bass needs some rework, it's clearly the main element but still has too much space and at points sound a bit weird with too much detune or something like that in my opinion. Idea is very cool but i think needs a bit of adjustments. Juan Palino's untitled wip: The problem with this track is the problem of most of your tracks, builds to nothing, hasn't got any peak moment. It is very interesting but the high expectations quickly decay when you see it goes forever. Since melodies is not your thing you could use that as an intro fade it slowly to a break and then drop it with a tech trance bassline, heavy percussions + shakers +hats and some synth stabs that could work very well. Evo8's track: Not really my thing this kind of techno, bass may be too present. At 1:00 the drop needs some previous build. The hat sample isn't my cup of tea either. This is what Ben Klock plays and never gave it too much attention don't really know if it sounds as it should. -------------------------------------------------------------------- And this nearly finished track and last mainstream tune for a while. |
