So how can I save on parking? Is there any way to park for free and ride the CTA in to downtown Chicago?

You can probably take the red line into downtown for vision. Your best bet would be to park around Chinatown and get on at 22nd. I don't know how late the red line runs or if Chinatown is shady at that time of night.

I come prepared for the worst.

I remember when I used to sport glowsticks too. Like I was a damn traffic cop.

here's the schedule for the red line

http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/rail/red/Cermak.pdf

there's meters all over chinatown that you should be able to park at for free after 7 pm but i'm not 100% sure. i don't think there's anything open down there that late so it's probably quiet at 4 in the morning.

lol, park on north/clybourne or fullerton if you wanna take the red line....china town is WAY too far.... this is only 3 stops to Grand (to get off for vision)

redline runs 24/7. however it must be noted that late night it is also a hotel for the locals

Haha sweet. I want the full Chicago experience.

I rode in a cab for the first time in my life last night. So a mass transit system is next.

it can be difficult to find free parking up there though. he's going to be coming up the dan ryan (at least i assume he is since he's in michigan) that's why i suggested china town since he wouldn't have to drive across the city and would be able to get back on the highway pretty easily.

We come on 80/90 (the Dan Ryan), and we are just looking to shave off this expensive parking. If we can replace $30 in parking costs with $1-2 per person in fee's to ride...the L.

where do you pay $30 to park for vision?

Posted by factory81 on Mar-31-2008 03:42:

There is a parking garage on superior we end up always parking on I believe, right across from some dry cleaners and by a Whole Food store.
Its like 34 W. Superior.
Than we parked down by Erie I think, and it was like $28.

We haven't found a parking garage by Vision that isn't $30. We see Valet is $12 but after the club gets let out its crazy and we are already driving home to Michigan as it is so we like to get on the road ASAP before we fall asleep on the road haha.

Than if you tip the valet people which I am sure you have to, what do you even tip them $3 per time?

Posted by Randy4me on Mar-31-2008 16:41:

If you go west on Eerie there are 2-3 lots that are $12. I know a parking lot that is free but i'm not giving up that info.

P.S. Unless there is a blizzard stay out of the parking garages. They are twice as expensive.

I really need to know where that free lot is. i'm sick of valet!! it seems that i am always the last person to get their car

Could anyone recommend some good $1 pint nights (if any)?

Posted by neatski on Mar-21-2009 18:22:

Maybe in the club section you could update the event list links to include our own newly rejuvenated events thread, which is more complete than the ones listed
