remodel?

well don't think of it as a loss, most people only got to experience the cow palace when the last "rave" that was there by a certain production company. Now you can expect A LOT more from us and and will hopefully let you experience it in a whole other light and actually leave a good taste in your mouth. )

and who said we were not trying to end past 2?

Dec 31 - The Crystel Method (Ruby Skye)

Seems like it's always TCM or like BBB every NYE at Ruby. Wish more effort was put into a good lineup for this night on a yearly basis considering it's Ruby and the price they charge.

Dave

FUCK! I knew it, what are trevor and brendon thinking. I think if you go back literally 5 years it has been either TCM or BBB.

Last year's NYE was fun (at least until 2am when we both got too far gone and the night went south) and the music was good but shit get new talent.

The price is already over the top. Now they are open till like 10am, with bars re-opening at 6am and breakfast + coffee at 8am but nevertheless they need good talent to make it worth while.

I guess we will wait to see the full lineup before we decide but I wish they branched out a little.

Ya I think everyone agrees this is a big shit on diehard EDM fans for SF, my only guess is that they know they can book wankers like BBB or Crystal Method on the biggest party night of the year because they will fill up the place reguardless of who they book...Please Ruby give us some fan service for NYE and book some huge out of town talent...

can anyone explain why SF NYE has gottin nothing over the last 5-6 years??Promoters used to book huge talent in clubs and there were several massives with in the city.WTF happend?? do promoters think SF wont draw a crowd on NYE anymore??

Ok so out of 2 out of the last 4-5 years 1015 has been able to bring in some big names...but outside of 1015's bookings, what is up?? is it that DJ's would rather play in LA than SF, or do promoters not think they can draw a crowd on NYE in SF to pay the bills??
I couldn't imagine that Ruby wouldn't be packed if they booked someone huge there? or Skills couldn't sell out the Bill Graham with a huge TAO style line up....
I am not trying to be a negative nancy, but I am(like alot of others) just really frustrated with the lack of love SF has gottin lately on NYE

I will say that some form of a large NYE event had been planned on a recent NYE in SF, but in the end it simply never fully formed. I am guessing because of politics with the city as SF and its city politics has been know to be quite difficult to deal with. I think I even posted a teaser flyer that I was asked to take down shortly thereafter because it was all still in the planning stages and they didn't want to get anyone's hopes up.

someone asked me why i go to 1015 so much... well this is one reason i dont go to RS for sure. no one on this list really excites me. probably the openers make me want to go more than any of those headliners thats just me though, im sure others can't wait for some of those headliners

While Spundae is helping Ruby with every Friday night event in their listings, not sure how much of the bookings were done by Spundae. Might have been Ruby handling and Spundae is handling promoting. Not really my business and I don't go trying to butt into it, hehe.

Anyhow, I can say that with Spundae, it seems to always be about the spurts. There will be a month or two of calm where they might be helping out with the event in some way, then there will be a few months of "OMG please stop with all these great events lined up because I am already broke as hell but of course I am still gonna go which will just make me more broke not to mention lose more sleep!"

Anyhow, with Ruby in general, other than very well-known DJs that can play any number of genres and still please the crowd (ie if a chunk of the crowd shows up for that DJ), booking house DJs is a safer bet for the general crowd that attends the club.
