This was a really, really great movie. Thanks for the recommendation.

Watched Pirate Radio last night. Quite enjoyed it.

Rosemary's Baby

this movie was definitely ahead of it's time(1968). a great suspense thriller that is light years ahead of current movies in this category.

UGH.. I watched that movie around the same time you rewatched it but I hadn't checked this thread out. We rented this one and Psycho. I seriously think Psycho was a million times better LOL.. the girl in the movie was such a dumb bitch and let everyone control her and she barely fights back like 8 minutes before the movie ends? plus, the way the husband treated her made me super pissed, I don't know, movies that make me pissed don't work for me

This one is definitely my kind of movie, I love suspense! Gotta check it out soon.

Loved that movie!

Watched Frozen today and it was surprisingly good.

That's the joke

This type of horror film is essential and effective because it puts a relatively sane person in an insane world. You were pissed because you are at a hysterical age in your life. Try watching it again in... 20 years.

It was similar to The Lookout, also with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. But Brick was much better- the writing set it apart from a lot of films. I don't know of any noirs that had as much style. Perhaps Mulholland Drive?

If you just want a decent thriller, I recall A Simple Plan being rather unexpectedly good. It's from a few years back, look it up.

Ill check out the lookout, thanks! lynch can suck my nuts. Im not nearly smart enough or massive wanker enough to enjoy his films.

Hehe, is the simple plan where someone ends up in the woodchipper? That was ace!

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Sep-08-2010 05:43:

Nope, that was Fargo. A Simple Plan has Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton. It's a Sam Raimi film, probably his most criminally overlooked piece. I'll bet it really engages you.

Oh yeah, the plane crash and the millions of dollars. That was good value.

Saw Pandorum, seems to have gotten panned fairly hard and played nowhere but I thought it was ok.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Sep-08-2010 06:16:

Pandorum was super ok. I wouldn't ever see it again, though.

Posted by Lilith on Sep-08-2010 06:23:

Apparently there was talk of a trilogy based off some books which might have expanded it a little more. For what there was I thought they put it together well, even if it was a little clichd in some aspects.

just watched this tonight too cause of you and hal's assesments, and cause it has joseph gordon levit...

great film, damn levit is so awesome, so good to see he's getting more roles!!

Oh man Pirhana 3D is total B grade awesomeness. So much unnecessary T&A, excessive gore, and cameo by Eli Roth. Excellent trash/no brain required flick.

Oh, also Christopher Lloyd.

I just watched Harsh Times the other day. Fucking bummer of a movie.

Perfect movie for what it is. If you liked this, definitely see Machete.

I want to mention the most outrageous part of the movie, but don't want to ruin it for everyone who hasn't seen it

Posted by Silky Johnson on Sep-09-2010 03:16:

Hahah, yes I almost gave it away.
