Yeah, the flooding is pretty fucked, lol.
Tomorrow/Thursday is supposed to be worse. All that shitload of water that owned Toowoomba last night will hit the Brisbane river in the next 24 hours. The Wivenhoe (lol, 'hoe') dam is totally full, so they have to periodically dump a fuckload of water from it each day, into the Brisbane river. Normally, this wouldn't be such a huge problem, but we're so damn lucky right now - The Brisbane river is tidal, and we have king tides at the moment. All that water has no where to go, except... yep, you guessed it: ALL UP IN BRISBANE'S FACE.
They evacuated a bunch of inner city areas this afternoon, alonf with a good portion of the CBD (that would be "downtown" for the Canadians/Americans).
We *should* be ok where we are, since we're back from the river quite a bit. It's kinda disturbing though. Bris is about to gey all fucked up. More so, I guess :/
Also, I blame ALL poor weather on Will.
Dude has a lot to answer for
They've replaced Top Gear with sodden Qld news.

More than 400 of us are meant to be up on the Gold Coast from Monday next week, landing in Coolangatta. No idea if that will happen now

hopefully they link ok
I'm fairly sure he's without electricity like about 20 thousand other people so he'll just have to imagine it or look out the window or something...
Did donate some money today, I didn't even put in a condition that none of it goes to Stuart
Oh good you reminded me. I should donate some money too.
If there's one thing I'll miss when I leave Australia, it's the way people are so quick to volunteer to help others and more often than not donate money to a good cause. You just don't see volunteers in other countries on the same level as you do here. The SES being a perfect example.
Compared to a lot of places, yes definitely.
Think right about now, Stu should be going through a stage 8 TA withdrawal. Scribbling his own forum on the walls with a biro by candle light, covered in mud, sharing the house with a randy turkey and making key-stroke noises with his tongue.

My question.....why did the Aussies flee the flood and leave the horses fending for themselves neck deep? Was it a time factor?

Is this standard for your neck of the woods?
