If you are fundamentally stupid with low capacity of analysis and correct interpretation of circumstances even the most expensive arsenal won't save you. It might illude you, but it won't save you. |

Originally posted by Seandroid I'm not sure I can handle hearing that sample in another song haha. I wish the track wasn't so plinky-plonky in regards to the melody. And I feel like it should hit harder. It's too reverby and doesn't have that sort of powerful rhythmic impact. Of course I'm not really sure what your artistic direction was. |

Richard, what is your daw?
FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

Originally posted by Richard Butler It's very polished, are most of the sounds your own? My last 2 tracks people say they want a more aggressive bass, do you mean like this one which is a WIP I posted a while back, but with new beats and bass; |

Originally posted by TranceElevation At this stage you got some serious problems with the bass in general, but with your ears moreover. What the heck are you listening on? The low end is there and for the type of track it is very appropriate. The bass shouldn't be boomy nor it should stick out, in many tracks it does almost work on a subconscious level I'd say. So really, you should rethink your interpretation of edm. |
Nigga, you just activated his trap card.

Originally posted by evo8 LOL im listening on Focal SM9s - what are you listening on?? ![]() Listen to that track posted by Evolve140 (good fortune) for a decently mixed bassline - maybe a bit too much sub but it sits well |

Originally posted by TranceElevation Wow, you listen on Focal SM9s? So please tell me, where did they brought you? The track from Evolve you're suggesting is completely different genre. Also, do you know the difference between bass and sub-bass? The bass extends till 250hz. That Vancouver guy cut everything below 80hz, which is totally fine and common for bass. And the sub-bass, which you erroneously confound with the bass, is actually in the kick. (That 60hz you're whining about, but that you don't hear cause of the kick being collected/compressed with short decay.) You're mind probably needs a slower bpm to notice. So my friend, what you're talking about is actually the sub-bass, which you should understand, isn't mandatory by the way. Some tracks are just good without it. (A different case is when we talk about deep-house, the track from Evolve you indicated). Cause otherwise, by your strange perspective, we should wonder also where is the bass in this track? I guess you need to explain to that noob Armin... A completely different thing is when we talk about tracks like this one where the sub is essential. |

Originally posted by chris marsh i like the atmosphere here, very nice agree on the kick, not a fan vocal fx are cool and overall mix is pretty tight imo also it sounds in key so that's a big improvement ![]() did you make/program the synths or are they loops?? i think it needs to go somewhere, you have the same loops looping in the background it needs a progression/movment but in my humble opinion your really coming along so keep at it dude |
guys i got the demo recording of the vocals back (she lives in another city so its a remote collab)
My honest opinion is im really not keen - there's a lot of tuning issues too. I quite like the verse ideas but the chorus sounds really out of tune to me and just not the feel i wanted
Im only posting this here cos im sure she wont see it - i wouldn't want to offend her with my opinions
I piad her upfront as well (im a noob at working with vocalists). From now on im recording all my own singers too
Whats your honest opinions guys??
Cheers
Sounds groovy, I like.
