I'm from Chicago and there's still some useful information in here. Awesome compilation.

I'm actually moving to Chicago in 2 months for grad school, and I'm looking to get networked and meet some people. Which clubs are better for this? I know in Atlanta, we have some clubs that are HORRIBLE for getting to meet a bunch of the local djs/producers.

Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In an effort to expose audiences to the depth of the artistry in techno, minimal, and house, Nadia Podolskys VOLATL Events has booked a myriad of genre-defining artists including Stacey Pullen, Bruno Pronsato, Adam Beyer, Camea, Carl Craig and more. VOLATL has produced dozens of memorable events in Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Miami with an avant-garde approach to sound arrays and bookings. Most recently, VOLATL launched the bi-monthly (re)Chicago event with Mazi and Kate Simko, produced Something in the Sky, a conceptual event with Jeff Mills and Mike Banks, and co-produced Superfreq Chicago featuring acid house pioneer Mr. C, which was featured in TimeOut Chicago.

A newly reinvigorated VOLATL Events awaits Chicago in 2013 and beyond. The Scissor & Thread Label night will re-brand the agency as the midwest pioneer in large scale A/V production, lighting and staging - modeled after legendary underground parties in New York, London, Berlin and beyond.

As a Chicago Resident for the past three years this original post could use some refreshing as there stuff listed that has closed and so forth. For the most part the house scene is pretty much centered around Spybar, Sound-Bar, Paradigm Events (does a large chunk of the underground afterhour warehouse parties.) and Primary. Then you have all sorts of other venues like Smart-Bar and so forth that are more niche.
