That tl looks more than interesting dk - grabbing this to listen on a bus ride later today
Nice smooth set, Dave. The build up was frictionless and before you know it, the set is cruising. As I've mentioned in a couple of your mixes recently, I do feel this one could have done with a big breakdown or vocal in the midpoint to announce we'd "arrived" somewhere. That said, you deliver the goods on the closing stretch. The last three tracks are probably my favourite part of the mix. You used Belfunk extremely well here, and for some reason hearing it this time made me realise, after many years, how much of an influence it must have been on Humate's remix of Das Glockenspiel. It also wouldn't be a Dave King mix without a show-boating transition or two, and that blend between Airwave and Lee Van Dowski is quite something to behold.

Another overdue installment of this series. Chunky prog, house and techno are the order of the day here. Been a while since I've had a proper mix and this one was entirely unplanned and off the cuff so a little rough in places but Im really rather happy with it. Enjoy!

Bugger.
Very much enjoyed this one, Dave; nice work! (Other than that one transition )
Generally enjoyed this Dave, although there were a few minor hiccups. That transition was indeed a piece of bad fortune - could you not have released the loop and started it again a couple of bars later? I also had it in my head that you were going to mix First Light into Utopia, which is a favoured combination of mine, so I was a bit affronted by that Prana tune in the middle that wasn't as driving as either. I feel that if those two moments had been different, the set would have made a more spectacular ending, whereas at the moment it's merely rather enjoyable.
Last summer I moved out of London to the shires and this installment has been heavily influenced by my recent wintery morning commutes from sleepy country town to bustling capital. Starts off quite bleary eyed and proggy before getting a bit more energetic and raucous in the final third before winding down at the end. There's a lot of melody here, in fact you could almost go as far as calling it a trance mix, I mean if you wanted to.
I've also tried to take on board some of the criticism of previous episodes. Really appreciate you guys taking the time to both listen and to comment! One of the things this commute affords me is time to plan so I'd say this is probably more polished than some of the others.

done sir
Thank you!
I greatly enjoyed this, as I always do. I must be getting old, however, because I didn't really feel that it began 'quite bleary eyed!' Though, relatively, it does of course start to really bounce along around 36 minutes in.
I particularly enjoyed the Candyland -> Cover Me section and then the Lava -> Swarm ending. The Lava -> Sacred Cycles transition was particularly tasty.
Hope your commute isn't too rough!
Nice one, Dave! Lots of bouncy, bubbly, kinetic energy sizzling through the first 90 minutes of this one, progressing in various mini-peaks and mini-valleys. The last 15-20 min are warm down but definitely needed after all the action you packed in there. Like talking with an old friend, this mix carries your distinct energetic trademark, and it was a pleasure to listen to. Here's to as many more as you can stand to make!
Oooh looky more music Mostly proggy, quite trancey in places I suppose heh

Is this the shizz you played on FB yesterday? Didn't get to listen to more than 20 min or so, I'll tune in to this anyway tho
Indeedy, the facebook stream got cut out twice but luckily I was recording the audio elsewhere
As always, Dave, very, very nice. Not sure I think the Patrice Baumel is a good add to the 'Perfect Motion' stable - it's not bad, but Boys Own slays it - but the whole set worked really nicely. As I've told Jon, I'm very sad I couldn't catch up with you chaps at Fabric last month, as I had been looking forward to that for a while. But this was very nice.
Also, I'm really, really sorry for being pedantic, please don't hate me, but 'Calling Your Name' is from Musicnow Records, not Global Underground.
Hope you and your family are well/healthy/safe and that I see you again soon
Great addition mate. Absolutely loved the last 30 mins or so. I've always played the Airwave mix of Ultrafoxx, but that Monojoke mix is the tits!
Thanks chaps! Jon I was always a fan of the Airwave mix too then I heard the Monojoke mix (on Airwaves LDC show ironically!) and were blown away. Tis a cracker!
Lockdown has afforded me a lot more time to spend behind the decks. I've also been doing a lot more running, getting out and exploring the countryside around where I live and been really getting into my proggy stuff (very much inspired by your Business Prog mix actually Jon/Jack). Anyway, another installment has arrived, 3 hours this time! Mostly what I would describe as trancey music I suppose
(I am aware that were missing number 23, it exists but I just havent done anything with it yet lol)

When I saw you were starting on Warsaw I expected this one to have a slow-burning atmospheric build, Dave. Turns out the first tune is slightly illusory, because this is pretty much full-knacker from start to finish. Quite impressive to keep the energy up for three continuous hours without it becoming exhausting to the ear.
If I have any mild feedback, it's that I would almost have preferred this in reverse: we start with a veritable rollercoaster of breakdowns and builds, and it's only in the last hour that things go into a heads-down acidic thump. Like Lucozade Sport on a gruelling long run, I prefer my sugary moments when I'm flagging on the final stretch, not five minutes in when I'm still warming up.
And yes, you did Blue justice this time with the mix. I could hear you set what might be described as "a conservative loop" on the outro.
Its been quite a while since the last time I recorded a mix. In fact it's been a good while since I even had a solid mixing session. Last week I had Saturday night to myself, turned on the 10 quid disco lights, cranked the volume, got pretty drunk and just played for nearly 6 hours.
There wasn't any grand plan, just a general yearning to be in a dark nightclub. Breaks, rave, bass, disco and trance all swirl around a solid chunky prog house and techno core. I think my last few mixes have a had a more ethereal vibe to them but this one is certainly more grounded in the sweaty, grimy end of things though still with a sprinkling of sparkly bits.
The mixing is a bit inconsistent at times, there are a couple clangers but mostly it holds together! Also a note on the ending, I basically realised I was far too drunk to still be awake (anticipating a wake up from a 6 year old in four hours) so just had to kinda stop. But yeah, enjoy!
Cant wait to get my greasy chops around this! Will report back
