Don't have any set plans that I'm aware of. I could possibly show you one of the shitty dives Dayton has to offer, lol.

Nah, downtown is alright. I hang out at the Pearl sometimes. It's a Top 40 & hip-hop type place though. But he usually plays some commercial house and stuff towards the end of the night.

There is a place here called Aquarius, which is a gay club that has been doing second-floor EDM nights on Fridays through September. lol. Not sure if they are still going through October or not.

Dayton sucks.

Too bad you aren't around tonight, I'm heading out downtown with some buddies for birthday celebrations. (Mine and my gf's b-day).

yeah that would have been cool, Happy Birthday to both of you! I don't have any problems hitting up a gay club if they are playing good music it's not like I'm out looking for women anyway. Let me know what you end up doing. Too bad you aren't having one of those epic parties like you posted the pics of in the cor.

hopefully I remember to run into philman's while I'm up that way to get a box of chargers

Armin! Armin! Armin! Armin! T - 12 hours!!!

Posted by DPetey81 on Sep-30-2008 16:45:

Still deciding whether or not to drive up after work for this. I get off a little later than usual tonight and would probably miss most of the opening sets, so it may or may not be worth it. Gonna be a game time decision I guess. Does anybody have set times? I've seen conflicting flyers with and without Blake. Is he playing this?

Posted by Bator on Sep-30-2008 17:55:

I'm pretty sure Blake Jarrell is playin I mean that's what the official flyer says but what do I know. I hope he's for sure I saw him in Chicago back in June w/ Markus Schulz @ Vision and he rocked it.

As far as set times, from my experience @ Metropolis the main act is usually on around 12-12:30 and plays 'till 2-2:30 or 3 but again what do I know, I haven't seen a set time list.

Where's the Tru events guy when you need him??

Thanks for the birthday wishes. We had a good old time.

As far as clubs in Dayton, there is a gay club called Masque that is actually really incredible... fantastic sound and lights. Good for when big names come around, definitely.

i'm debating whether or not i wanna infect everyone with my coughing/sneezing tonight...the evil in me thinks i should since i don't actually *feel* sick, i just am...so why not share said sickness with my fellow clevelanders.
enough gin and tonics will make anyone feel better enough
still have a few hours to decide for sure...

It's nothing spectacular by any stretch, but it's somewhere to go that plays EDM, which is few and far between around here. lol.

Whereabouts do you live?

Posted by mcdpitt on Oct-03-2008 01:54:

very few and far between. we usually have house parties bc all dayton bars are so similar. we live in miamisburg. we go out to columbus and cincy to go 'clubbing'.....like to hang out at pub/bar louie at greene and organ district.

Posted by XaNaX on Oct-03-2008 15:32:

Do either of you ever go to Clique in Covington? Somebody I work with told me it was cool and they play "techno" but she is one of those people that thinks all EDM is "techno" so that really doesn't help me with finding out if their music is good or not

Where is the best place to go for edm in Cleveland? What nights are good?

Yeah, actually I spun there once a few months ago. It's an alright little place. It was really dead though, but I played on one of their "Stomp Sundays"... I haven't been on a regular weeknight. I'm sure it's probably pretty hoppin'. It's not super crazy fantastic, but I'd go back.

Do you have the kind of house parties where you have DJs playing EDM? If so, lemme know...lol. Playing house parties is fun.

Cleveland sucks for EDM. I can tell you that much. The only DJs worth checking out that play on a regular basis are Jeff Tritt and Dan Stark. They always put out great sets imo. Evan Evolution is OK, but I just hate the kind of music he plays. Than, you also got Anthony Atalla and Kenneth Thomas. They don't play here often anymore, but I like them. The rest of the local DJs that I've heard are not worth listening to IMO. They either play the same old shit every time, trainwreck or pretend to be Armin (I'm sure you locals know exactly who I'm talking about).

Cliffs:

If you happen to be in Cleveland, watch for Dan Stark, Jeff Tritt, Evan Evolution, Anthony Attalla and Kenneth Thomas. Don't bother with anybody else.

Could not have said it better myself. Best show at BOMA I've been to yet.
