Tracy Morgan is never, ever acting, that is why he has a career.

+1

the guy is a terrible actor.

i watched 'cedar rapids' the other night.

it has it's funny moments here and there. there are time i really wanted to laugh, but i couldn't. don't know, but i just had this sinking feeling watching the film. all in all, a solid 7/10 film for me.

good to see isiah whitlock hasn't let go of his "the wire" character.

Fixed

And as for Russel Brand, he's hilarious. Get him to the Greek was my favorite comedy of last year. He seems to fit that Arthur remake just fine to me, although I never saw the original.

I liked The Sixth Sense.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Mar-03-2011 19:43:

I don't think anyone liked The Sixth Sense as much as Shyamalan did.

lol... here's what he's masterfully accomplished in the last 7 years:

The Village
Lady In The Water
The Happening
The Last Airbender (winner of several Razzie awards this year)

OH! And he did write "Devil"

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Mar-03-2011 21:44:

let's talk movies again!

i got around to watching Catfish. thought it was shitty, and i'm getting kinda tired of the faux-doc.

watched fermat's room - actually enjoyable.

leaves of grass - edward norton was pretty awesome in it. i didn't really like the last 30 min but aside from them def a good movie

your turn.

Posted by Renzo on Mar-03-2011 21:52:

Saw Welccome to the Rileys last night. Not a bad little movie. Gandolfini and Melissa Leo were on point. And you can almost forgive Kristen Stewart for doing the Twilight series after you watch it.

Almost.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Mar-04-2011 01:28:

i liked Welcome to the Rileys too. I feel kind of bad it didn't get an appropriate full release like it should. i do feel the relationship between gandolfini and stewart was way overacted, especially the scenes in her house. otherwise, some places in certain scenes do remind me of my childhood days.

I liked his northern brother character, but the southern one didn't sit well with me. One of the first movies I actually enjoyed Susan Sarandon in though.

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Mar-04-2011 03:06:

yeah i totally agree
i thought his southern brother was well-written but norton didn't quite execute. maybe we just aren't used to seeing him in roles like that? or maybe he was overacting...

Definitely don't feel the need to catch Norton in Stone either. Sucks all around.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Mar-07-2011 03:25:

so i finally had a chance to catch Biutiful. Solid movie. not one of his best (i think 21 grams was his best movie), though this movie is better than 97% of the movies in 2010, so i give it 2 thumbs up.

the movie, like his other movies, is slow paced, yet doesn't jump between timelines as much as his previous movies. so the movie is very comprehensible for the average movie goer. after watching the movie, it does make you think about life in general, and how to treat death.

// edit

forgot this movie technically should be considered early 2011, rather than 2010, i am sure this movie is going to be better than 97% of the movies in 2011. btw, i am a big gonzalez innaritu fan.
