Figured I'd give the thread a bump and say hello. So... Hi! I'm originally from NYC, moved to Cleveland to attend grad school at Case. Have been DJing since 1999, although I've been so busy with other things that I haven't played out in a couple years (although I'm hoping to change that soon). And I've recently gotten much more into producing/remixing.

Would love to find any other TAs in the Cleveland area, especially those who are into making music!

DESYN'S BIO:

A teenager at the time the rave scene exploded in the UK over twenty years ago, Desyn Masiello has been part of the house music and rave scene since the start. Desyn was a dedicated vinyl junkie from day one, and has a tireless passion to create DJ sets that lift the soul, move the body and open the mind. A full time professional touring DJ for the past 10 years, he has played almost every mega club and every major festival in the world, from a career he started from one mix cd that he sent out in 1999, which earned the respect of various promoters around the world who started to book him. Career highlights have seen him appear on the front cover of DJ magazine (Jan 2010, with SOS) and release over 5 DJ mix CD compilations into the stores worldwide on labels such as Balance, Ministry of Sound, Bedrock and Yoshitoshi. Desyn has also appeared in the DJ magazine Top 100 DJs three times, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Once introduced by John Digweed on his radio show as the man that never sleeps, this was really recognition from one of the legends of the scene of just how much passion and work is required to craft his sound and stand out as a DJ. Desyn is a self confessed vynil addict, admitting that he spent most of his youth in dusty second hand record stores, amassing a musical knowledge and taste that stretches across many genres.

Desyns career was built almost purely on his DJing ability, having only released a handful of low key underground co-productions in his career, it was instead word of mouth and reports from the dancefloor of his DJ sets that sparked his rise and recognition. He has a work ethic that is focused almost entirely on the production of DJ sets. Desyn states I really focus all my work time on preparing and editing tracks and dj tools for my DJ sets that take you on a special ride and open your mind to new feelings.
In 2006, having been voted at that time no. 54 DJ in the world, Desyn and his fellow SOS'ers (Omid 16b and Demi) took a U-turn and decided to focus their work away from a solo direction, and instead team up and create the musical DJ-trio of SOS. SOS was a project born out of three like minded friends who lived in London and all grew up with similar musical tastes and passions. Their journey together saw two CD compilation releases into the stores and took them on a four year tour around the world playing together as a back to back DJ-trio. Working in a team and trying something totally new with two very talented other music heads was an invaluable experience for me as a DJ, we all shared knowledge and skills and helped each other grow as people and artists."

WHEN LEPRECHAUNS ATTACK!!!

Feat. J.Phlip (Dirtybird | Pets)

FULL SCALE TWO STAGE EVENT with PROFESSIONAL LIGHTING, LAZERZ, SOUND and DECOR by Delirium Lighting and Soul:R Sound System

THE PARTY WILL NOT STOP THIS EVENING! We are keeping the club open with music and serving you BREAKFAST, BEATS, and GREEN BEER!!! Afterparty DJs to be announced at a later point(we think you'll be pleased)!!!

********************************************************

This year we are going to be rolling into St. Pats with full effect. J.Phlip of San Francisco's based record label DirtyBird will be with us to bring the party to the next level. This is her first time out to North East Ohio so let's show her how we do it. If you have caught any of the DirtyBird shows of the past few years you will know what to expect. Justin Martin rocked B-sides two years back. Then Claude VonStroke killed it at the House of Blues last year. Now it's time for J.Philp to destroy the Lounge.

To ensure the best party for all of you The Lounge/ Backstage Night Club will be staying open from Friday night straight into St Pats. So forget having to leave and find an after party some where else. We are going to be having it right here. Once the official party comes to a wrap we are going to a have a whole new line up of djs to keep your morning going. The Lounge will be starting off the day severing up breakfast. Then at 5am the Green Beer will start flowing and the St Patty's debauchery begins.

********************************************************

J. Phlip (pronounced J Flip) known to some as Jessica Phillippe discovered house music in her hometown of Champaign, Illinois, just 2 hours south of Chicago.

Sometime around her 19th birthday she got her first DJ rig - two belt drive turntables and a mixer lacking EQ knobs for $100 bucks! From then on, her poor roomates were forced to listen to a constant dance party in-between her Systems Engineering studies. There aren't a lot of 4.0 brainiac engineering majors who decide to become DJs instead of cashing in on their degrees but Jessica truly loves the music and has dedicated her life to it.

Her proximity to Chicagos famous house scene tremendously affected her sound, but the distance afforded her the freedom to incorporate a variety of other influences into her repertoire. Her sets possess a fun, "lets-not-forget-this-is-dance-music," feeling and simultaneously keep you guessing about what might come next. Her collection spans house, tech house, deep house, techno, booty bass and pretty much anything that makes you shake your ass.

Jessica's skills on the decks and in the studio have secured her highly desirable spot as an official member of the Dirtybird crew, after signing her first record to them in 2008. She is currently Claude VonStroke's favorite support DJ and has already played at amazing high profile gigs like Fabric, Space Ibiza, Back to Basics, and Watergate. She was also chosen for URB Magazine's Next 100 of 2009 and is currently residing in Berlin (but is often back and forth between there and her previous home of San Francisco). Look out for her upcoming productions on dirtybird, Pets, and Krush Groove. She WILL be making asses shake on the dancefloor and she's just as excited about it as the day she got her belt drives!

Point blank, Charles Feelgood loves music and even more, he loves sharing it with his fans. The man prides himself on his ability to connect with his audience through a wicked combination of his exuberant personality and his exquisite ability to know what fills and keeps a dance floor pumpin.

His rise to dance music infamy dates back to his humble beginnings as the leading force behind the Baltimore / Washington DC electronic music scene. Alongside his partner, and fellow DJ, Scott Henry, Feelgood launched Fever, which for nearly a decade became one of the most sought after events for touring DJs from around the world. It was the days after starting Fever that Feelgood enhanced his reputation amongst those the international dance community. He parlayed his danceable brand of House music up and down the East coast and became renown for his creative ability to incorporate his love of 80s music with a variety of different House styles into his sets. In the years that have followed, he has taken his talents to all ends of the earth from North and South America to Russia and Asia, and everywhere in between. In 2010 Feelgood launched his first podcast Bumpin House Madness an ongoing series of hour-long mixes that showcases both his music as well as some of the music he adores. The podcast is available for download on iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/...use/id365599645).

Any parties happening next weekend in Cincinnati area? Be nice to have a DEEP DARK DIRTY TRIBAL HOUSE Session somewhere.... yeah, wishful thinking....

Posted by dar124 on Mar-27-2014 13:57:

Figured I'd post some info for this event here. Eventhough it's happening in Akron, I'd consider it a "Cleveland event". A handful of the songs have an EDM "feel" to them.

MC Cali Miles reemerges with electronic-pop sound

Local rapper Cali Miles feels as though her recently released mixtape, "Glitterverse," distances herself from the young MC who turned heads a few years ago with her popular "SnowBunni" single. "This is actually my second official release," said Mogadore native and Cleveland resident Miles. "It has more of a modern vibe." Miles said her music has grown from R&B and hip-hop stylings to more pop and EDM-friendly tunes. She points to "Glitterverse" tunes such as the electronic "Chasing the Night", "All Night" and "Party on the Weekend".

Cali Miles will perform a free show Thursday, 10pm at ZarNightclub, 349 S Main St., Akron.

Paul Oakenfold at Liquid in Cleveland - 6/14/14

Paul Oakenfold is coming to Liquid in Cleveland this Saturday!!!

Posted by dar124 on Sep-24-2014 14:30:

WOW, I've been meaning to post a reply here after the show, and it's taken me until now to do!!!

So Oakenfold ended up not showing up on June 14th (something about the weather in Minneapolis), but Kenneth Thomas played a longer set. It was a decent show, and Oakenfold rescheduled to 9-26. So I'm looking forward to the rescheduled show this Friday down at Liquid!!!

Here's a link to a quick video clip.

And a pic from the show.

Lived in Cleveland from 6 years. Moved here from the UK. Used to go to Trance Energy and other events in Holland every year. In desperate need of keeping up with trance events within a reasonable distance of Cleveland... obviously moving here has been detrimental to my trance life. Major trance come down. Need a pick me up. Last saw Ferry C in Columbus, thinking of planning a trip back to Amsterdam. Any tips of local gigs?
