Hi yes, this is WAY to loud, if oyu want your kick to do better, at least get your limiter to BARELY clip with it's input on unity
in potential a great track, love the floaty piano

Nice, not much to moan, will succeed within the genre, if anything, your low end is still a bit cloudy. I would like a bit more focus on the kick, not louder, just denser

I finished (I think xD) the wip I posted previously, tried to take in consideration your advice. I wait your final thoughts on it ^^

Can't remember if I already told you this, but in my opinion you're not exploiting correctly the stereo image.
I see you've slightly panned the clap to the right, which may be a good idea, but you should bear in mind that a clap is a big sound which takes a lot of space, so I would advice to keep it center and thus share its energy between both channels. And if you wanna leave space for your kick/bass in the center, a better idea would be to pan hard left/right that sort of high bass you got from the very beginning of your track.
The idea here is that the bigger a sound is, the better to keep it in the middle. I mean, of course you could pan your clap, but make it smaller otherwise it'd drag too much attention and defocus you from the driving elements.
And also the pluck should be center in my opinion.

I suppose you're mixing on headphones cause that is a pretty common result where panning elements harder might appear as if they're "out of the box" which leads to undesirable consequences.

Also, have noticed some arrangement faults. Copy the structure of professional tracks as a start.

But hey, at the end remember that this is my very own personal perspective.
If it sounds good to you, just ignore me.

Bit of dubtechno, house, bit of trance riffs, some soundscapes, a mixed bag I guess, close your eyes sit back and relax..... it gets deeper along the way...

little disclaimer: Since my Cirklon I on make live recordings directly into a console, I no longer use a DAW and all mutes, FX fades
don't look for polished tracks, I like them in the rough

Usually my spectrum of tolerance towards kicks is pretty large, but this is too much. That kick is really anorexic.

If it is a choice, just ignore me.

get a subwoofer, it will rumbble your windows out if the kick isn't 1 thing, it's being thin, it's wimpy 6" ported monitors that lack the lowest octave

personally i find the track has no space and therefore it doesnt really groove along because of this
The actual melodies and stuff are kinda nice but the mix is swamped with low-mids/bass

I have both heard it on a subwoofer and on good head phones. The kick isn't working for me either. It's has too much of a click sound to it.

dont like the kick, too clicky or something
tracks sounds much better round 2 mins when that noisy lead disappears
the percs/hats arent really working, just not grooving for me, hats need to be mixed a bit louder imo

overall i still think you try to put too much stuff in your tracks - sure, you want to use all that nice equipment but less is more

The clicks at 3:12 are simply because my setup wasn't perfect when I bounced the track - they are not meant to be there :-D

I really like your track - if you EQ it correct, and use a compressor better you would have a really great track. Did you do it in Logic Pro? Would you be interested in letting me remix it?

the bass sits really nice, synths nice as well but i just think a better kick would transform this track, imo of course!

any opinions (good or bad) on this one?

I think the whole track needs some more rhythm. Also you should invest in some high quality samples e.g. The Vengeance sample packs (1,2,3)

Like this blend of Techno/Industrial elements in this short WIP - as far as whats next? - I would say you can add some more melodic parts sweeping through your track or add more Industrial FX to emphasize Techno/Industrial riff/groove.

Oh sorry I don't use logic and TY all for the feedback, very helpful. Will try come back with an improved mix of my song ^^

Here's a hard club WIP, I think I'm done with it bar mixing, do you think remove the vocals?

EDIT - I'm re-doing this, it's crap.

Haven't been on here in ages...Thought I'd drop by and throw up something new I've been workin' on. Gettin' into that darker vibe lately.

A good piece for me, quite evocative.

The offset main bass is a little woody, I'd maybe scoop out some of the low resonant woody area.

Posted by theterran on Jan-12-2014 17:00:

Not sure what "woody" means I'm afraid. :S

A guess though is that it's modeled off a deep Moog Square bass, and you're hearing the "Squareness". It's nothing frequency dipping or gouging would get rid of and the bass would need changing entirely. Do kinda like the hint of square for the punch, and it translates quite well onto a sub-woofer.

Cheers for the listen and feedback <3.

Posted by Richard Butler on Jan-12-2014 23:20:

So I re did my 'hard' club track, it's just about finished for once. I quite like the simplicity but as it's still a WIP I'm open eared if any changes needed.

Terran I deffo ddn#t mean squarey I meant woody - probably around the 200-400 hz range.
