So these seem to be getting longer, couple of weekends back I got drunk, started a mix and ended up going for 7.5 hours. Its a real stream of consciousness, no real plan or anything grand like that, just wanted to play a few tunes. It goes a bit all over the place, through prog, techno, breaks, trance and back again, although Id say it mostly hangs together, think of it like a whole night out where you get to shift between rooms during the course of the evening.

Split into 3 parts for ease of digestion, probably a chunk of something for everyone in there

The next instalment of this occasional series, which appear to have turned into Dave gets pissed and mixes until he has to go to bed! Once again fuelled with some excellent craft ale and armed with a decent haul of new tunes I kinda picked a random tune to start with and just went where the mood took me. Chunky, warm summer night vibes going on here, few ups and downs but mostly and a solid groove level with plenty of sparkly bits. Gets a little wobbly towards the end, clearly should have called it a night sooner but I think it all still holds together! Enjoy

And a solid mix! Very nice. As always, a great blend of new and old tunes. Some fun mixing, too, eg around 'Paradise.' Good stuff, sir!

Over a year since the last one of these! 2 hours of trancey goodness, very much inspired by festival season and memories of sweaty nights in a field. I think this kinda covers all the bits of a festival night, groovy sunset vibes, a change of mood as darkness descends, a stomp through til dawn and then some blissed out euphoria to welcome the sun again!

I thoroughly recommend this set! It�s mad how amazing trance music is at the moment - I didn�t think it would ever make this kind of comeback

Anyway as I said to you privately, the first 5 tunes are an absolute highlight here. I thought the transition into breaks was a little jarring, but the banging trancy stuff you come back with in the middle is jaw wobblingly good!

Nice combo of oldies and new bangers to close things out too, as any good festival set would!

The last last 12 months or so have been pretty hard, various issues in affecting home life combined with relentless busyness at work have meant that there's been little time for DJing, and frankly not even much time for a lot of fun, everything's been very serious. The Easter break gave me a bit of space to do some music and what popped out was this 2.5 hours of high energy dancing music. A lot of these tunes have really thick chunky basslines, reminiscent of late 90s house or even speed garage but also fit firmly in the progressive trance or trance aesthetic. They are also a lot of fun, and both recording this and listening back put a big grin on my face, hopefully it'll have the same effect on you.

Very enjoyable, great energy and as you say - there's a nice sense of 'fun' about these newer artists amongst the sophisticated sounds and retro production aesthetic.

As mentioned in the other thread, "Time Out" had set opener written all over it since I first heard it, but I just couldn't make it work that way with all the other stuff I wanted to include in my latest mix. So luckily we're not stepping on each other's toes too much.
