4. how to die in oregon
5. attack the block
6. i saw the devil

Anyone seen the trailer of The Rum Diary? From the mind of Hunter S. Thompson, starring Johnny Depp. Along the lines of Fear & Loathing, looking at the trailer this could be a fun movie. Doubt it will come near F&L though.

just caught 'Senna'. a great documentary, though i know nothing about f1 racing.

i'm really interested in seeing that 'don't be scared of the dark' flick as soon as possible. anybody seen it?

Saw Dust to Glory recently.

Very intense camera work. The narration reminds me of a manic Jim Rome for its over-sold enthusiasm but it's decent enough as a primer for the Baja 1000.

Ugh... I'm completely turned off from anything Johnny Depp is in nowadays. He has over-saturated the eccentric role thing, and has become a caricature of a caricature at this point. The one movie he was in recently where he didn't play a fucking weirdo, as John Dillinger in Public Enemies, sucked a fat dick. Go away, Johnny!

I watched Tucker & Dale vs Evil last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have two classics on my hands which I haven't watched before:

1. Seven Samurai
2. 2001: A Space Odyssey

which should I watch first?

edit: went with Kubrick

It's true. He sucks now. I keep waiting for him to do something decent for less pay to redeem himself, but if he has, I haven't heard of it.

Couldn't agree more. The problem is that the **** thinks he and hunter s Thompson are alike, so he thinks he can play any character of his. If he ruins the book I'm going to be pissed. The books character isn't eccentric though, so honestly it COULD be a chance for depp to get away from that shit with a more serious role...

Bad movies don't ruin good books. They're just bad movies.

I haven't read the book, but I read the name HST and I saw a trailer with Johnny Depp acting goofy and talking funny, so I did the math
