Yea, I don't know why people get all uppity over suppressors. It makes a gun more quiet. Its still easily heard (on most guns), and the rounds its firing are significantly weaker if they are not idiots and using subsonic ammunition.

Its the same paranoia that got hollow point rounds labeled as "cop killer" rounds, when a hollow point is far more easily defeated by even basic body armor than any full metal jacket or even lead ballistic tips.

Silencers are legal... You just need a dealers license to have one.

Hollow point bullets aren't known as "cop killer" bullets. Cop Killer bullets were given their name because their core was made of steel and had the ability to penetrate standard bullet proof vests. Bullets that were coated in teflon were also mis-labeled as "cop killer" rounds as well. Nobody ever called hollow points by that name, except apparently you.

It doesn't make any sense. A hollow point is much more effective at killing a person with no body armor on, but much less effective if they're even wearing a basic kevlar vest. A simple google search of "cop killer bullets" will show it was a term from the 80s about both steel core bullets, hard brass core bullets, and teflon coated bullets.

Really? Cause thats exactly the fucking point I was making.

Basically any sort of "exotic" ammo in the 80s and 90s was vilified as "cop killer" even if it was totally misrepresenting the capability of the round. Some of it made sense, some of it, hollow points for example, didn't. Why I said paranoia, because it was irrational.

impressive but it's sped up a bit. if you look at the clock 8 seconds is compressed down to 3 seconds. down south they're ill prepared to deal with ice. i once hit a patch of ice, and by the time you realize it you're completely fucked.

oh those are what you need to MAKE them not own one, i dont have a clue what the laws to own one are or how well regulated it is

Suppressor registration is legal in most states, and its registration is a bit more complex than just a gun (and required). As is it is in most cases its beneficial to register them to a trust or corporation since the laws are a bit less strict (and easier to let other people use them).

This is pretty much the same process as registering for destructive devices (yes, technically it is legal to own high explosive military grade weapons like howitizers and missiles, if you pay for the registration [and aren't on some crazy lists] for each piece and round of ammo).
