In 20 years I'll be around your age. And you said that you had a "major release in your lower thoracic vertebrae" and then in your blog said the issue was with your Lumbar vertebrae.

Yoga strengthens your body in ways that regular exercise cannot. It can be physical therapy of sorts. You don't have to believe in chakras or other spiritual bullshit to do yoga.

It's supposed to be both, really. Yin/yang, mind+body type thing. When I do yoga, I just try to focus on repairing and strengthening some of the ailments in my body, like my knees. Take it slow. Nice, easy stretching with some poses in the routine, and you'll feel like a million bucks.
You can go "ohmmm" if you'd like, but I don't have time for that bullshit
