Originally posted by Getafix So i ended up working some more on my track i posted earlier. Tried to improve the percussion after Optik's feedback & also added some synths & ended up completely changing the ending part (still not 100% happy with it). Let me know what you guys think, are the levels ok/balanced? Working with only headphones at the moment. Thanks for listening: https://soundcloud.com/getafixmusic/doppelganger-1 |

Originally posted by evo8 yeah i like this track, nice vibe - i would prefer the kick to have more thump and cut some of the bass instead, also i would bring the clap up a bit more my 2c |
getafix - sounds well-produced to me, good quality sounds and a nice mixdown; works well. I might try it a little faster maybe, just to bring the groove together a little more

Originally posted by optik cheers man, was thinking that about the bass drum, it's going to involve some complex routing to get it back to being chunky as it's existing in the attack of the master compressor (hence lack of tail) will give it a go tonight cheers T |

Originally posted by optik track of how I feel at the moment. I've kinda abused compressor in this, and reverb.. would be interesting to hear what you think.. |

Originally posted by PaULiN0 Never heard a mixture of anything like this which could be good or not. At first it sounds like some sci fi space age ambience with pads and nice strings, then the piano comes and turns everything around. The kick sounds like a deadmouse kick from faxing berlin, quite identical. The vocals feels a bit vocoded and gives also different vibe. So its alright to me. The mixture of elements is new but necessary is what i leave up to you. |
huh
cheers matey,
I think I'll work on the claps a little when i get a bit of time, there is something not quite right about them, you're right
I'm going to do a slightly shorter version without the breaks and with a much more conventional intro - a classic club mix - will pare it down to it's most groovy I think
cheers for the advice matey

a little over the top maybe.. but fuckit! very rough and ready, not really mixed it properly, but going for a wall of saw sound.

Originally posted by Domesty The melody is actually pretty cool. One thing that pops on my ears is the delays and reverbs on your lows (far too wide). They seem to be maybe little bit overboard to my headphones. Really loving the intro till 1 min. Cool chord progression. Overall good listen! Little of the intro and the chord prog and lead what im kinda trying to do. Anyone know where i could get good clap/snare samples free? I have pretty much none and trying to create them myself from something out of stock is pain in the ass and i do not have the knowledge. Would really love to play with some new ones. |
