Nice melodies and beats

Sounds quite polished i think

Like you say could benefit from some fx.high end detail/ whooshes etc, especially at 0.49 where a nice big white noise whoosh might work

I personally feel you could high pass some of the elements apart from the sub to give it more room, as i feel its getting a bit muddy down there

I think you could increase the highpass on the pads up to about 200 hz, at the mo theres pads down as far as about 80 hz according to digicheck

Maybe compress the bass a bit harder, and pay the bass a bit more attention?

Like it

Thanks mate for your time and suggestions - good input!!

At this moment few of my elements in this WIP will need to be adjust or tweak just to get this track to acceptable level (structurally and phonically speaking) - one of those element is bass line which will have to go through some fundamental reconstruction as right now I'm not really happy from the sound and depth of it

Also I may have to sublayer it to have specific and particular sound what I'm really after -> which is deep, tight but at some point in the track smooth and kind of floating around overall melody, creating on its own this warm and nostalgic atmosphere in this production.

Cheers man and I'm happy that you really like it so far !!!

No, mate, is still available but only over here on TA site as this is only private track on SoundCloud and not visible to anyone over there.

Still to early to call for me but I really like where this is going so far - have a good time with this one (some challenge on the bass line site but will figure it out sooner or later )

Always great to have your comment man, appreciate!!!

ah...my apologies, chrome decided it wouldnt display the widget so got it in IE

yeah, nice! im liking that after the break, its grooving nicely, nice space there!!! and the progression is nice, i like that

just the synth in the break, its a bit plain?? i can hear the reverb on it but for me it could do with a bit more bite or something, its just a bit bland IMHO

Alrighttty, fixed a lot of things and here you go.

- first two "leads" is in C
- baseline is in F
- some of the efex is in A

this slightly indicates an F major but it totaly doesnt seem to be intentional, especially when more and more elements later on seems to be in C & D, and the break being in some Eminor scale. Complete mess if you ask me. Did u just press all the white keys on random?

Thanks man, appreciate - yah, this pluck in the break will have some face lift in the short future as I also find it to weak or not too punchy/aggressive for my taste but I'm glad that you like this WIP so far

Here is another shot for the break,

Sorry mate, I have to agree with clay on this - there is nothing coherent or gluing all of those instruments together at the moment so I would spend as much time as possible to work on this aspect in your track - my 2 cents mate.

yes it sounds wrong because, as mentioned the parts or all in different keys

This is partly because you've stuck different synth loops from sample cds together right?

Perhaps stop trying to finish complete tracks and focus on learning for a bit - like learn some music theory, learn about making sounds, study some tracks you like and maybe have a go at recreating them etc?

Im not an expert but im confident that this will help

Like it so far has a good direction, don't fuck it up! No suggestions here would need to see how you finish it to tell if i put on it my A mark or decide you fucked it up :P

Really cool vibe! Sounds mechanical and quite cold, like it

Imo this is a bit thin in the 500 - 2k range, (where the wood block type percusison sits) Could do with another layer there

The fx are really cool, love the bass

I think you need more stereo width in the main body of the track, not sure how you would achieve this with a minimal sound, perhaps try panning similar sounds (ie pair of hats) hard left and right for example

You could make Synth sounds wider with plug ins or HAAS (pan hard left and right and delay one side by a few MS)

Voxengo sound delay is good for this.

loads of other great free plugs here, MSED and SPAN both awesome

http://www.voxengo.com/group/free-vst-plugins/

I also feel like the mid bass layer needs more aggression Maybe try splitting into several bands and distorting some to bring out the harmonics?

All just IMO of course

thanks rodri and thanks chris - yeah it needs some work, i listened last night on my itouch and it needs a bit more low mids, there is a sound playing there but its too low so i can bring that up a bit - will experiment with moving the bassline up 1 octave as well

Got something interesting sounding already Paul - like those Industrial sounding elements in your production man and with some more cleaning up in mixing stage (adding dynamics) you definitely would get something worth sending around my friend.

For your reference please check this guy (know him for some time) - his is producing something similar to your style and have some great dynamics in his tracks:

I listened to all the tracks you posted lately but i am too tired now to write down anything, about Chris Marsh's track just say that i found it very neat with a good melody and few advice i could give about it...

Tomorrow i'll comment about the rest Darek etc... better than writing on a hurry.

Started this today and got it more or less established, needs some risers, vocal loops and a tweak on the little breakdown at the end of this clip but you can see where i am going already, comments critiques are welcome.

Ok so my humble opinion :-)

There were elements I enjoyed but it did get a bit repetitive however I appreciate that "risers, vocal loops and a tweak on the little breakdown" will address that.

I would love to hear some sort of melody in there somewhere, unless that's not your style? I didnt know whether the top note (the consistent high note) was intentionally off key? If not I would suggest that you bring it down two noted from D# to C# but add in the odd departure from that. I liked the stuff around 4:10. 3:40 nearly blew my ears off :-).

Apart from that, not bad for one days work.

Now for my feeble addition to the WIP pile, my current project, a few evenings in.

My pre opinion of this is that most thigs will not survive in the current state, will likely change the bass and the lead...well everything, but i'm pretty sure the melody will be similar :-)

Opinions appreciated, never really put anything out there!

(Due to the lack of mastering lol I would request that this is listened to with headphones for now lol)

Alright, Here goes one more time, hope is the last. I changed from A major scale to f-Major. I changed the breakdown melody. Took out a note in the pads so that they are in key with the choirs. I changed the first two leads to F and i guess thats almost it. If you spot any errors let me know and i'll give it the fix.
