Sweet mother of god, I used to live in Morden. Above a pub, on London Road. Maybe 5 mins walk from the tube station.

We're about a 15 min walk south of the tube station, quiet suburbia. Perfectly doable for the next few years, especially given the price!

In 3 years, we will be moving on, this is just the first step on the ladder.

If by unit you mean flat/apartment, then yes, we got a unit in a block of new-builds.

This weekend will see:

Blinds going up.
Furniture being built.
Bed/mattress being delivered.
Fridge being delivered.

Then next week sofa being delivered, bedroom furniture being delivered, mirror put up in bathroom and phone line connected.

Yeah, I really don't like moving house, entirely too much effort a lot of the time.

(We do have the 'house' thread here ...for those 'you know you're getting old and respectable on TA when' moments)

Oddly, I now live in the same suburb that I did when I first moved into a share-house in Brisbane, about 13 years ago. I can't help but think some time could have been saved, somewhere


Edit: How's that mix coming along?

Since moving to the UK, I have moved 11 times in 8 years. This will be move numero 12, and I'll be there for 3 years at least. Only ever having a room in a houseshares means I've never had too much stuff to cart around thankfully.

Once in the last 10, I had the glorious idea of buying a little house at 21 and filling it with a LOT of crap, at least a 1/4 of which is still unpacked and in the basement storage

I've lived in 3 countries and moved multiple times. You get used to it.

In fact, it's actually helping me to find jobs now!
