Wow I feeel like i learned a lot in little time. Now it actually feels like song writing than just throwing every thing together as if I were just jamming, Storyteller's approach is more artistic and artisan like. Def gave this track more room, space, and journey like texture.
Thanks guys. Now how do i go about finishing. Also if you think there's more changes to be done don't hesitate, i love criticism, it only helps.
Practice, practice.

Yeah I know man, I'm going through a phase right now and i kind do feel stuck but my structure improved. I don't feel comfortable with moving the bass but I know i have to work on it and I will. Thanks for your honest feedback.
One question. The bass starts at 1:00 Min when do i move it? yeah its a dumb to ask but i really feel uncomfortable and a total newb on that concept. I feel like if I master that and little more melody progression, I guess i'll pas the level of average.
Oh this is the first for me using the Gmajor.
I suggest you study in detail the structure of the tracks and producers you like and try to recreate that. Different genres of EDM follow certain formulas, which you should familiarize yourself with. I'm sure you already know this, but it can't hurt to study some tracks again to get some inspiration and clues, so you can get a clearer picture of what you need to work at.

You should discipline yourself to finish tracks before you move on to the next one(s). You might find it hard to improve if all you work on are rough drafts. Just my 2 thoughts.

You can always come back, but how do you intend to improve on skill and technique if you don't finish your projects? At the end of the day, WIPs don't mean anything because they are unfinished projects. Having a couple of interesting loops doesn't mean you've improved on technique, it means you've simply created a nice loop. Skill and technique is within the structure of the overall track, which requires a WIP to be completed.
I still disagree with that notion. Finishing something you have idea on doing is just a stubborn approach. The more comfortable you get trying new ideas different times until every thing sounds right (In Harmony or in key). I'm def gonna finish this one btw. I can't find anything wrong except variety in difference.
You can always come back, i agree with that but than you have to delete 50 to 75% depending how bad you were at the time. If its still a wip than you still have the core ideas in place there to finish on.

Damn thats like van dyk right there. Soo the hook is when you want to change bass right in between the climax just like in the track... ok i get what you're saying. Yeah I like it alright. Thanks man.
You guys are farther than me and don't have key problems like me. Well since i'm goood now everything is getting finished.
There's something I've mentioned to you several times but I feel like the comment has not sunk in with you yet.
On the mix side I think you are better than me, your overall mix IMO is decent, so that's one major plus, but the point you seem not to be taking on board is that you are making a FILM BACKGROUND WITH A DRUM BEAT.
That's I think what you need to keep in mind for your next project - if it starts sounding like a static film background (basic ambient type background) with a drum on top, you need to stop right there.
Hope this helps!
I realise btw my techno stuff is very samey but that's a deliberate intent for when people are at 3am bombing away in some Berlin club under the railway arches, it's not supposed to be melodic or particularly hooky in an obvious sense, it's meant to be more like something primeval akin to the experience tribes might have had when zoned out to a load of bongo drumming.
but that what I wanna do Richard, its not meant to be dancy.

So I've updated this one.
Is the break a bore?
Didn't listen the whole thing, but as the other time what I didn't like is the low end. Too light and shy. It's immediately noticable (that's not a good sign). I think it should be tighter and punchier. Sounds wrong to me. I'd understand if this was some atmospheric piece where the melody and overall mood was leading...but here, this seem like a piece you should dance to.

QUESTION - I did not want to start a thread for this;
Which soundcloud upgraded version allows you to replace one track version with another so I don't have to always delete a WIP and start over each time?
I checked their blub but could not find this out.
All of their paid packages do.

Back in the time when I went for a paid account you couldn't replace files on a free account. I'm assuming their policy hasn't changed on free accounts.
Edit: Here's your answer: http://help.soundcloud.com/customer...articles/247670
Ta very much!
