Help me settle a bet!

I need to settle a bet, and I was hoping some of you could help me out

The question is, is Lange pronounced 'lang' or 'lanj'???
I've got money riding on this

i think with a g, not too sure though

I've always pronounced it 'lang' (like bong but the 'o' replaced with an 'a') and then 'eh'. So 'lang' 'eh'. I've managed to confuse even myself here but this is just the way I pronounce it and I am sure totally sure if this is right. This is a pretty bad thing to bet on though since different people could pronounce it differently and it may sound differently in different languages. All in all, I think you might want to drop the bet and bet on something else. Hope I helped even though I have a feeling I didn't

Argh!I meant to say, 'I'm NOT totally sure if this is right'...just to clear things up.

Question: Whats your real name?

Answer: Stuart

Question: Why the name Lange?

Answer: It's part of my surname (friends nicknamed me lange)

so if it was a Surname of him...then it would ce pronounced as Lange would be as a name...Lange in English with a Long A ...like BANG,SANG etc..... hope that clears it up

What I'm uncertain about is the ending... is it like K.D. Lang, or is it a soft g, like lanj...

Posted by Kurve on Jun-22-2001 09:20:

like K.D LANG

Posted by jparknyc on Jun-22-2001 09:31:

what is his real surname??...

Posted by Robert on Jun-22-2001 09:35:

i pretty sure its just lanGGGGe

Posted by Romp on Jun-22-2001 09:48:

if its a nickname then that means it wouldnt be pronounced LANG, cos if it was it would be spelt that way, so the e must be there for a reason, making it 'LANJE' or 'LANGER' (with a hard G)

Thats what I reckon anyway :P

Posted by Kurve on Jun-22-2001 09:51:

well it was a surname not just a nickname so

Posted by jparknyc on Jun-22-2001 10:05:

so what is his surname then??? just need to know that...i'm pretty sure if lange is a nickname, then it must be short for lange*** something...or mayber ***lange...who knows maybe even in the middle **lange**...but i still need to see the surname...jp
