Are you REALLY trance addicted?

Are you really,really trance addicted?
Anybody have this feeling, when you come from job or school and you must listen to...?

Posted by Torley Wong on May-21-2004 18:05:

Yes, certainly, me and music in general. I always try to expand my horizons but it's incredibly vast, this trance ocean

Posted by Ory on May-21-2004 18:07:

Yup, I have to listen to music... all the time. Mostly prog though, alot of different genres too. Heck, almost everything Oakey plays, I like.

Posted by Wildfir3 on May-21-2004 18:08:

no

Posted by placebo on May-21-2004 18:12:

Yes. Music is on 24/7. w00t. W/O trance...WTF WOULD I DO ALL DAY AT WORK?!!

Posted by AndskiSpeed on May-21-2004 18:36:

not addicted to trance, its all about garage rock nowadays

Posted by JJ-T1 on May-21-2004 18:38:

I listen it home, car and @ work

Posted by Torley Wong on May-21-2004 18:43:

What would some examples of garage rock-trance hybrids be?

Posted by Whip_lash on May-21-2004 18:44:

Every single chance i get to, i listen to the beautiful music.

lol, white stripes - seven nation army (liebing remix)

Posted by Torley Wong on May-21-2004 19:19:

Thanks, I'm not familiar with that one. I know Adam Freeland is a champion of rocky breaks but rocky trance is something else

Posted by AndskiSpeed on May-21-2004 19:42:

I dont really know any other songs, most garage rock wudnt get touched by trance/tech producers, I think white stripes tunes just fit into this kinda style more than other bands music

I'm hoping to see more expansion in the future, then. I think white stripes lends itself down because of its minimalist nature (in part, anyway).

Slylee you have great taste...looking at your favs...

WOW, Oliver Lieb, Sasha, Tiesto

we have VERY similar tastes hehehe

Posted by Slylee on May-21-2004 20:19:

thanks

my taste in edm is very developed and well rounded i think because of my love for so many other genres like rock and hip hop.

what is one of your favorite live sets of all time?

one of my favorites is Tiesto's Dutch Dimension set from 2002...

Posted by ASOT100 on May-21-2004 20:25:

if i'm at my comp or in the car, i'm listening to trance for sure

hmmm good question. i think that my favorite set of all time will always be Oakenfold @ Gatecrasher 1999 simply because it was the first live set i ever dled. other favs would be Sasha @ Alexandria Palace and i would agree Tiesto @ Dutch Dimension 2002 is great...i still want that first track on vinyl damnit

Posted by Slylee on May-21-2004 20:50:

yea that was a great track. i want The Ambush "Everlast", but i think it never got released the breakdown and build up of that song gives me the chills...

Sia "Drink to get Drunk" was another great track in that set.

Everlast == Tuneage!

daggone where did you find that at. pleeease pleease tell me! i have been looking for that for 4 or 5 years now! i am talking about the original pressing on grand casino with the Original and Dub mix. NOT the club mix/speed mix one and NOT the dave angel/club mix one either. I must have bought and sold those two newer ones like 5 times now because people have trouble determining which remixes/label/release dates correspond to which record. So anyways not to veer off track too much these mixes got me addicted to EDM:

DJ Dan - Live @ 311
Paul Oakenfold - Live @ Gatecrasher 1999.06.17 (2nd DJ set I ever heard, first trance set I ever heard, classic.)
Paul Oakenfold - Live @ Home - Space, Ibiza 1999.07.25
Dieselboy - Live @ Sapphire

those are from like 97-99 but everytime I listen to them they still get me groovin i remember when i first heard oakenfolds mixes the summer before my freshman year at college. it was like every record he played in the set got better and better and you just couldn't wait to hear what he put on next. is he still like this these days? what happened?
