tryin really hard not to listen!!!aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

i want to hear it for the first time when the album is released.

Posted by Torley Wong on May-23-2004 17:08:

Oh MY gosh. Been looking forward to this for awhile now. Thanks for the heads up!

THIS track defines why they are called "Way Out West" because of the jingly, cowboy-y country-western-sounding twang riffs! Not kidding. I like the melodies, I can imagine a bar brawl breaking out when the Sherriff enters (at 3:18 or so)... YEEE HAAA!!!

Around 4:48 is like when Jody and Nick are riding their horses into the distance, towards the sunset and shootin' their pistols.

is apollo getting a 12'' release, or is it just gonna be on their album?

Damn well better get a 12" release or Nick and Jody will have some serious explaining to do.

Posted by Torley Wong on May-23-2004 17:24:

A good question. It's... already been spun in some WOW sets so I'd assume there is a 12"... but as for wider release, I dunno.

YEE HA!

This track is very melodic and varies a lot, with that cowboy style... it's like cyber-cowboy something! The beats are straightahead but bouncy and noddin' and the melodies are so catchy, and original! Bring on the banjo breakbeat!!

Posted by djthunderbird on May-23-2004 19:59:

this track reminds me the sound of airdrawndagger. all the subtle melodies & very tight sound are making me fall in love with this track
When does the album get released? this is a definite buy. Absolutelly essential..

Posted by Dahippieman on May-23-2004 21:45:

melt>mindcircus imo

Posted by infinity HiGH on May-23-2004 22:34:

Expecting to hear this in about 7 hours when Nick and Jodi take stage

Posted by vinnie97 on May-23-2004 22:46:

Many productions they've done top Mindcircus.

Posted by UWM on May-23-2004 22:48:

I really like Rollercoaster. I think it was only recorded one time.

Well well! I knew vinnie97 had to speak up here sooner or later *cheers* LOL... "Mindcircus" goes over really well with the pop music crowd, I know because I've been there. It's a good introduction to their stuff, esp. if you're not much into clubby stuff to begin with. HOLY CATCHY MELODY.

Posted by vinnie97 on May-24-2004 04:18:

hehe, that it is, the catchiness rules supreme on that track, I won't lie. UWM, Rollercoaster is definitely choice...they ought to release it in some fashion.

I think there's a remix of this song out... considering the version they dropped in their Radio One set (Way Out West - Live on BBC Radio One 11-09-2003) sounded different.

Nevertheless, AMAZING song.

Nothing too special. I am not sure what you guys see in that track. Something y'all should listen to is all of the BornOne Remixes; now that's something special.

Posted by raver31 on May-24-2004 05:00:

apollo is incredible. sounds like they will never top it.

If you're basing your opinion on the 48-kbps mp3 streamed via Distinctive's webpage, then you're not hearing the half of it. It doesn't get more lush than "Apollo," but I'm still remotely interested in this BornOne bidness. However, you just mentioned remixes. No original work? That's already -2 pts.

The track in that Annie Nightingale mix is not "Apollo," btw, but is an early instrumental version of "Anything But You," another album track.

They've been topping themselves for 11 years, I hope they're not about to stop.

Are you sure? It really sounds like Apollo after a few listens >.<

Posted by vinnie97 on May-24-2004 06:07:

absolutely positive, they added some vocals and have been playing it live across the US & Canada for the last few weeks (along with "Apollo").
