Historical Perspectives of Trance Music.

I've been into Trance music for going on three years now. Lately, I've become very ineterested in the history of Trance music. I would really like for some of you fans that have been into the scene for many years to discuss your perspective of the evolution of the music and the scene.
Talk about DJs, clubs, specific tracks, ground breaking albums,important historical events in trance music.... Get the idea?
I want people to go back as far as they can remember....
Now, if you've only been into trance music for a few years, then this might not be the place to cite recent events. I'm really interested in the very very early years as opposed to the past few years.... If I had to place time constraints, I would say up until the year 2000. So, have fun with it... talk about whatever you feel is important from a historical perspective!
