My beautiful story
Tick.. tock. Tick..tock the clock went, 9am I thought. The sun was shining down just like any other day, but I was on my way to a special place. 9.30 came and final boarding call was heard. Shortly after boarding I thought, should I really be here? Some time around 10:30 the combination of vodka and night nurse kicked in, shaking violently I thought of the fun that was going to come ahead. I soon passed out.
I was awoken in Mexico City, I was here. A taxi came for me, the driver was Leroy. He was gay. We made our way to that special area of town. It was there I saw it, my favourite actor, working as a butcher. He had starred in such seminal classics as Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow, but now he had been reduced to this. Not since his supporting role in Suburban Commando had I see him covered in so much blood. But this was real blood, not coloured corn syrup. The claret tones of a Mexican butchers shop were beautiful in afternoon light. I quickly entered.
Is that you Stephen? he said. How did he know my name? I had certainly never met him and much less made a lasting impression.
How do you know my name I quickly replied.
I know your name because I am Jesus he whispered softly.
That stuck with me for a long time. My favourite actor is actually Jesus? Jesus Christ? It wasnt something I was really expecting, but I was glad to hear it. To this day I dont know what happened next, but I found myself suddenly back at my hotel. I returned to the butchers shop the next day, but it was bakery.
I never knew what I saw that day, I dont suppose I ever will. But something profound and beautiful happened that day, my favourite actor is Jesus Christ.
