Whats a good mixer console? I am thinking of Digi 002
Hi,I am planning on buying a mixer console, so I am thinking of the Digi 002, which has firewire support. Is this a good one? Or is there any better ones? I also want to be able to use at a minimum 4 external effect units..
Thanks!

Depends on whether or not you are happy running pro-tools. I'm pretty sure the digi 002 mixer comes with a copy of Pro-Tools LE, but this means changing your sequencer program if you are using something else.
In short though, Yes, it would be a nice mixer but only if it is compatible with your working environment.[/rant from insanely forgotton member]
You don't have to change your sequencer. What you would do is have to export/render/save each indivisdual track/channel in your sequencer as seperate audio files and then you load them into ProTools so that you can use ProTools to mix/master your track. that's how all the other music genres do it in music studios.... well.... that's the basis..:: arrange/prepare --> record --> mix-from-tape --> master
Question:
Suppose I have an external reverb unit (lexicon pcm91) and I have a wav file. Using the Digi 002 would I be able to do a mixdown of my wav file using the external effect unit? Or do I have to have a live sound source feeding it?
Thanks!
