eh Im moving away from hardware and into software vsti so i can work in both worlds I wanted to see what u TA' Vsti users recomend for Reverb vsti price is no option.

90% of the times I use the standard cubase reverb. Why you might ask? Well simply because it's easy and fast to use and still gives a pretty good result. Only real downside it has is that predelay can't go higher than 100ms :/

I'm guessing what you mean is a reverb that works more like the standard hardware reverbs right?

well I dunno but I think the closest you'll get to that would be the wavesreverbs

i haven't found the ultimate reverb in the VST-world.. the best quality you'll get with the waves IR-1.. but it neeeds a lot of processing power..

i use always the classic verb for the powercore, it's still a bit better than the waves and uses only DSP-power..

Don't you already have serious fx units for this? why the change? anyway like Vizay said the Waves-IR1 is just about the best vst reverb you can get but you might need a second compto handle it or a pretty powerfull computer.

As reverb quality is usually just a matter of processing power, you'll find that software reverbs either have pretty weak results, or consume a lot of CPU. That's why I recommend against parting with any hardware effects unit you might have.

But if you insist :

The new convolution reverbs are great indeed, and mostly depend on the quality of the impulses (lots of decent ones on www.noisevault.com). SIR is a free one, and then you basically got Waves IR-1 and Voxengo Pristine Space (which gets my preference).

If you look for "normal" reverbs, then I can recommend Ambience from Magnus Jonsson (http://magnus.smartelectronix.com/), Spinaudio Roomverb M2, and of course the Waves Tru and Renaissance verbs.

The best thing you can do in my opinion is to go for a combination between soft and hardware, by taking one of those DSP cards : the UAD1 or the TC powercore. You can use the effects in a software environment, but they are calculated on DSP cards. You get the best of both worlds.
It's a personal opinion, but I tend to find the Powercore reverbs (same algorithms than in the TC M5000) a tad better than the UAD ones. On the other hand, the classic EQ and compressor effects of the UAD have more character than the Powercore ones.
