Exclamation ATTN: Producers, your tracks are being ripped off!

Hi there,
this has already posted in the Music Discussion forum, but I thought I'd better post this here too since you are the people this concerns the most.

http://www.jetgroove.com is selling your mp3s as CD Singles illegally!

I just did a quick search and I could find at least 2 Al Azar tracks there, the Whitesun remix of BT - Force Of Gravity, MK-S remix of Frenzy , Lightworks remix of Delphini Blue - Antarctica, Bren-F mixes of 3rd Earth and Evanescence - Hello, Elude - Nudawn 2003 and probably many, many others...

Take action now! I've already emailed them regarding our tracks, I suggest you do that too.

All that hard work you producers put into your tracks just for some asshole to steal it and sell it off for a buck 25.

Thankfully I can't see this site lasting too long.

Oopsie!

We've been having a bit of fun in #ukta spotting the extent of this site's illegitimate activities. As they are selling a promo vinyl rip of 'Nothing to Live For', I have e-mailed my record label alerting them to the situation. That seems hilariously futile now though, since ian^ has contacted Nukleuz, Anjuna and Elevation among others. Hopefully JetGroove will be JetGone soon.

Wowzers this JetGroove guy must be very stupid to do this. I think he's gonna have quite a hard time now..

What an idiot!!

Hee hee, here's a bit of email transaction...

Subject: Regarding your site and our tracks (Al Azar)

It has come to my attention that you are selling illegally printed CD single of Al Azar's tracks "Shattered Dreams" and "Forever Forgotten". There has not been nor have there ever been a CD release of these tracks, in fact Forever Forgotten isn't even signed to Expanse Recordings as you falsely claim. Both tracks are also in their demo form and do not represent the quality of the finished products in any way.

How do I know this? Because I have made those mp3 files MYSELF and shared them on a public website. Not only that, but this CD is obviously printed from the ripping group MNS "release" since you have the titles mixed...

Rest assured I will contact Expanse Recordings and my producing partner about this and will take further action.

Representing Al Azar,
Nikolai Rasimus

Dear Sirs and Madams,

My name is Ulukman Mamytov and I am the attorney for jetgroove.com.

I bring you apologies from JetGroove for making you worry about your copyrights infringements and your music repertoire being presented on our website. I want to assure you that jetgroove.com having started a new Online Music Download Service pursues the objective of making your music more wellknown and accessible and ONLY BY LEGAL MEANS.

That means we DO NOT SELL any of your music without obtaining a proper permission (License) from you or other respective rightholders. You can easily check this by trying to purchase any of you music. Everything that you choose to put in your cart will have status: "Not Available For Purchase Yet". It could only be put "ON HOLD". And we do not change that status untill the contract is signed and your permission is granted. In this case all of your music will be given "Allowed for Selling" status and people who have it in their shopping carts will be able to buy it.

The experince of showing your music on our website without distributing aimed to draw your attention to us, with further goal to make contacts with you on friendly terms with a perspective of mutually beneficial partnership. We’re glad to inform you that your music is getting popular indeed through our website and we can let you know at any time how many of your tracks were put on hold and which ones.

However, we deeply understand your concerns and would like to assure you, if you find our relationships impossible, we will IMMEDIATELY delete all of your music from our music collection.

Hope you’ll find our offer to make your music more popular through us rather reasonable and we can start that mutually beneficial partnership.

Very Truly Yours,

Now, is it just me or does that look like a standard email they send to everyone... ?

Sure does

Posted by [mart] on Oct-08-2004 11:20:

Regardless of whether it's a pre-written e-mail or not (and it blatantly is), that e-mail is possibly one of the most stupid things I have ever read. The guy is contradicting himself all over the place!

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Oct-08-2004 11:28:

I sent them an email asking were they actually planning to tell us about having our tracks up there at some point... I also told them to remove the tracks immediately.

I doubt it'll happen but meh...

How do they expect anyone to trust them when they do like this??
I see no future for this jetgroove...

Posted by electrohit on Oct-08-2004 12:31:

...

Isnt that lame to post someone's track on a dodgy website before you asked him if you can sell it? dickheads...

oh , and for some reason i have a feeling that if you wouldnt sent him the e-mail he was still selling your music ...

Posted by Timothy on Oct-08-2004 12:38:

So are they selling the music of you guys or not? In the response that Nik got, it says that the songs aren't able to be downloaded since he doesn't have a license.

Posted by Jay M on Oct-08-2004 13:02:

It says on the site it's the beta version running there, which could mean they just started. Someone should register and try to "buy" some of these tracks and see what is really happening..

They already made the intention of selling it because the price is right next to the tracks! I think that's not allowed as well!

The site really smells BAD!

These people are criminals. Mr.M did an excellent job of catching these criminals but the question is how long and how much illegal material was sold on the site? It is obvious to me after reading this email that the company is trying to talk there way out of it, hoping to "partner" with this artist after they sold unknown #'s of his music off the web. Instead of relying on the courts. I would highly recommend any artist affect by this manner to press this issue to your local attorney and stop this fraud from happening again. This email was written by the store owner and not an attorney. PLEASE DO NOT ENGUAGE IN ANY CONTRACT WITH THIS PARTY BECUASE YOU MAY LOSE YOUR COPYRIGHTS. I highly doubt this engagement would exist if other artists came forth. This is an attempt to quickly quiet one victim while many other unknown victims are not contacted.

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THAT ALL THE ARTISTS ON TA AFFECTED BY THE FRAUD OF JETGROOVE. FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT .

Posted by AZCA on Oct-08-2004 13:15:

ei! they are selling even Ferry Corsten's tracks!
