Question Trance or Vocal trance?

Trance without any vocal or with vocals?
Forgive me if this had posted before...search button isn't working

Posted by goatboy on Oct-15-2004 12:50:

There's room for both in this crazy mixed up world but in a cd length set I only like to hear 2 maybe 3 vocals.

Also I wanna add that I mean decent vocals layed into a good trance tune NOT a 7 minute track with 6.5 minutes of some whailing banshee woman "singing" !!!

non-vocal to many trance tracks r ruined cose of vocal on them

Without vocal, unless the vocal is really, really godly.

Without bringing up old thread subjects, can you name a track that you think has a "godly" vocal on it ? I am just interested in other peoples opinions of what constitutes a good vocal. Examples anyone ?

Some trance tunes can't go with vocals....I prefer some vocals in a track.....but not many

hahaha as the rush comes!!!

Posted by TheVrk on Oct-16-2004 02:11:

both great, but u CANT go wrong with a good vocal imo

Posted by Camwin on Oct-16-2004 02:15:

u serious, i thought that was shit, songs with good vocals would be Anything with Kate Cameron, but yeh it can't ova power the actual music. Sometimes i prefer vocals with trance, it deppends if it compliments the music, like the Gabriel & Dresden Rmx of "No one on earth" really works well.

I like all my songs to have female vocals in them.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Oct-16-2004 03:09:

I think an excellent balance between vocal and non-voacl is the best way to go on a CD or live mix.

Example of Godly vocal = 'Silence'

I don't care if you think it's old. This song is an absolute classic and still sends chills down my spine.

Non vocal preferably, but those "humming" vocals can really add to tracks. (ex: 3rd Earth, etc)

Vocals can make the song sound really bad and cheesy, but vocals can also make the song sound very beautiful

good vocals:

Sonorous - Protonic (Ronki Speed Mix)
4 strings - take me away
delerium - silence
delerium - innocente
Coast 2 Coast - Home
The Roc Project feat. Tina Arena (Tiesto Mix)
Blank & Jones - Watching The Waves (Original Mix)
Blank and Jones - Mind of Wonderfull
Way Out West - Mindcircus (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
Matt Darey Presents Mash Up - Liberation (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Dj Tiesto Mix)
Perpetuous Dreamer - The Sound Of Goodbye
Solarstone Presents Elizabeth - Speak In Sympathy
M-Diva Reachin' Out (Original Club Mix)
Aria - Dido (Armin van Buuren's Mix)
Marc et Claude feat. Maria Nayler - Free Spirit (Marc van Linden Remix)
Smith & Pledger - Forever [Above & Beyond Vocal Remix].
Sterbinszky 1492 - Fly Away With Me (yes, I know it's very cheesy, but the vocals are great!!!)

i dont think this is trance... it has some strings but it doesnt look like trance to me. opinions?

I want to add
Andain - Beaufitul thing

without that meaningful godly vocal(and/or G&D rmx), the song is pure trash ihmo.

i like a bit of both thank you

Greetings!

Wife and I love the vocal trance, but both have a good place in our playlists. Not any vocals, mind you, just the sexy, seductive type. Like walking on clouds, most anything by Jan Johnston, Kirsty Hawkshaw, and so on...

I prefer tunes with female vocals in.

Tunes featuring Justine Suissa =

Ah yes! Thank you fine fellow for mentioning her! Her sexy voice drives my wife crazy! To the point of...oh nevermind!

I just wish she would put a lot of new music out soon! I can't wait!

YES, very rarely is there a great track with
lengthy vocals - and i LOVE vocals

but a mix of the 2 would be best,
with a little more vocals

Posted by XoxidE on Oct-22-2004 22:50:

I would think that vocals and nonvocals are equally the same to me, but i would only listen girls vocals, cause if guys sing...it just ruins it all!!

also, the only vocal songs i like would be that the girls vocals better be really really good! ^_^

but thats my opinion!

Posted by itsTrueSonic on Oct-22-2004 23:36:

it depends on how i feel.
i don't think vocals is cheese, only to an extent if it is used properly. warning to djs .. do not try to remix an 80's song ... depends on how much the vocals is taken to effect .. (like BT ft JC Chasez - Forces of Gravity (Ferry COrsten mix) .. cheese .. j/k .. don't tell DarkAngel..)

but i like either the light soft female vocals or the gay male vocals (not that i am gay or anything .. really really i'm not.. hmmm.. )..
