Idea Is ATB a cheese producer?

WTF?

Posted by 3xx3r7 on Oct-21-2004 19:03:

I think people need to stop being elitists. Anything that does not sound like their favorite producers is cheese for them.

Cheese is characterized by the poor quality and originality of production.

I think ATB obviously has some talent...

Posted by XYSHOOR on Oct-22-2004 14:43:

I think ATB isn't cheese. He realy got some talent. I realy enjoyed Sunset Girl, In love With The DJ, 9pm (Till I Come), You're Not Alone. For me cheese are the second plan tracks of DJ Scot Project (thats pure cheeeeessseee) - except main singles like R (Rock!), O (Overdrive) and the rest.

Yes. Seriously, how is this a valid question? Yes, he is. Are we comparing to Scooter or something? Yes, yes, yes, ATB is a eurotrance aka cheese producer.

Posted by Stuku on Oct-23-2004 09:33:

Yes Yes Yes

Posted by Hanki on Oct-23-2004 14:06:

Hmmm I must say, that I can't decide...He's made some very chhese tracks, but he also made some great tunes, like 9PM...Depends on the situation IMO...

Posted by Cloud on Oct-23-2004 14:55:

ATB - Ecstasy , Marrakech , IntenCity
They aren't cheese too

Posted by Camwin on Nov-15-2004 02:19:

Yes to many of the above statements.

YES to ATB being cheese.
YES to ATB being quality electronic (cheese) music.
YES to ATB posessing talent and skill.

There is a fine line between cheese and great electronic music, and it has NOTHING to do with whether you like the artist/song or not. Its more of about how mainstream the mentioned title is, how much commercialized, how sophisticated and advanced the title is. Cheesy songs rule the airwaves, lack matureness, almost always have a similar vocal direction, and are always too quick and too simple.

Who knows, maybe its just my opinion.

And you know, opinions are like as-holes, everybody has one.

if ATB wasn't cheese we would not wonder if it is

Posted by Zokle on Nov-18-2004 20:03:

Cheese is CHER. ATB is NOT cheese. Amazing tracks w/ amazing vocals.

haha..LOL!

Posted by DJ Cinos on Nov-19-2004 09:51:

Yeah, he does have talent. But it only shows on his first album.

Posted by DJ ICE777 on Nov-23-2004 05:42:

voted yes cuz a lot of what he produces is cheese, but he also has some good songs out there

Posted by mezzir on Nov-23-2004 07:05:

i said yes, but he does have a few solid tracks, ones that GtR mentioned
and of course, once in a while i like the ones with the silly slide guitar synth too

Posted by Magnetonium on Nov-23-2004 17:16:

I have to add, that some of his latest tracks have been quite amazing.

I really enjoyed ATB's (kinda) recent releases such as "Sunset Girl" and "Long Way Home"

Anybody else can back up my claim for "quality" of those two tracks? And NO, they are not cheese, especially the first one - the second track maybe swinging towards cheese-eness, but its not there ...
