someone said Ligaya meant something in Tagalic, like hope or love or something...

I assume it was for Ferry's wife, who is Filipino, but i'm not sure exactly what Ligaya means..

I'll post in Floorfiller stylez!

ok ok... so I want to know what this track means.

ok ok... Isle Dauphine & Yimanya.

On a side note: The search always seems to be shitty for me too.

According to the Tagalog to English Dictionary, Ligaya means delight. I was told it meant happiness, but I guess that is close enough.

one i remember from the old ones i remember was the name Solar Stone...which the guys picked out by flipping the pages of a book and landing on a sculpture by michelangelo...

Posted by flavdave on Oct-22-2004 04:28:

And I think Yimanya might be an alternate spelling of Yemanja, who from the looks of this website, is a goddess of the ocean.

also another one i remember once again about solar stone hehehe...but that a possible reference for the track seven cities could be the legend of the seven cities of Cibola...the cities made of gold that Coronado went in search of in the lower united states...

This is what I found about Isle Dauphine (translates to Dolphin Island perhaps?). It seems to be part of an archipelago between South America and Africa. It is a dependency of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco.

I didn't know it either until I looked it up on Google. Recluse - Isle Dauphine. It comes out on Lost Language November 1, 2004 with remixes from Probspot and 8 Wonders.

I thought Tiesto got the name Nyana from a tiger or lion in Africa, but maybe I'm pulling that out of my ass. I swear I read that when it was released.

Posted by Floorfiller on Oct-22-2004 04:48:

i believe tiesto said in an interview that he named that track Nyana after a leopard or cheetah or some cat he met while in africa. i forget what the translation was though

edit: Flavdave...yeah i know i read an interview where he said that...

Posted by flavdave on Oct-22-2004 04:51:

Perhaps someone knows the answer to this, where did the name Gouryella come from?
