Here in Canada it seems to be a lot more even and usually the same people who listen to trance also listen to house. Usually I find that people aren't too sure and like both a lot or slightly like one more than the other.

House is not hard enough for me although some prog and dark tribal stuff is good but not good enough to come close to trance

Never really got into House music, maybe I just wasn't exposed to the kind I'd like, because I have heard some decent house tunes, not sure which ones but I know there are a few.

Obviously I voted trance, this does seem like an odd comparison to post at, but I guess 20% or so actually voted house :/ so oh well.
