Deep Thought

Use the above link and check out the track "Dagoth Dreaming". This was a song I had written for an indie movie soundtrack, but the film was cancelled, so the song sat on my hard drive for about 3 years.

Now, I'm writing and compiling material for a new ambeint/downtempo album, and am considering this track for the release.

My question: Is this track worthy of being on this full-length? I've heard the song so many times, and it being three years old, It just sounds old to me. I'm looking for fresh opinions from people who can listen to the song objectively, as I can't anymore.

- some of those noises are a bit too harsh. use something softer, and it think the desired effect would still be there
- all the sounds seem a bit muted, or overly compressed
- make those background pads more prominent
- that kick needs to be stronger
- the drum programming itself is pretty nice, but would be better off with different samples
- since this is like movie music, it would work fine, but for plain listening i think it needs more elements and variation
