Question about early trance DJs

Who were some of the DJs that were playing UK-style trance as early as 1993/1994?

I mean "UK-style" as opposed to German-Techno-style, so no Paul Van Dyk, no Snap, no Dag, no Sven Vath, etc.

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but the *only* one I know of so far is Oakenfold...

Sasha, Digweed, etc. were definitely too far towards prog-house to be called "Trance" then, even if they did play the occasional trance track.

So who were some DJs that played the slower, druggy acidy not-techno-y trance (I'm resisting using the word "Goa") like Oakenfold played?

I should give track examples:

Overlords - "Wow Mr. Yogi"
Genetic - "Trancemission"
Juno Reactor - "Laughing Gas"
Vinyl Blair - "Trancespotter"
Opal - "The Snake"
Quench - "Dreams"
Man With No Name (Any track)
Yothu Yindi - "Timeless Land"
Extasia - "Extasia"
etc...

Note: I know Sasha and others would play some of these tracks sometimes, but 90% of his sets still sounded like house, and I'm looking for DJs that mixed MOSTLY music like this.

although no expert i'm not sure whether there were many people playing this kinda of style and certainly no big names. It really started kicking off more a couple of years later

what are you talking about? just trance made by uk artists? there are several kinds of trance in the list, like GOA, which is indian. you can resist GOA if you want, but you list GOA there. eveyone played those tracks who was into the "softer side of techno" sven, spoon, dag, they all played man with no name, quench, and so on. it was all trance no matter who made it. I don't get what you mean by "UK STYLE" trance. i doubt any dj's went and only bought/played records from uk artists, which is what they would have had to do since there was no distinctive "uk trance sound".

Let me clarify a little bit. My choice of the phrase "UK style" was a poor one in retrospect. What I was getting at was, in the late-mid 90s, say 96-98, there was a distinct style of trance that was huge in the UK. Back in '93-94, Oakenfold was playing almost that exact same style, and as far as I can tell, no one else was, including all the "softer side of techno" DJs; I know that the tracks I listed DID sometimes get played by the likes of sven, spoon, etc. but my point was that when the techno DJs were playing those tracks, it stood out. They'd play 10 straight techno tracks with one goa-style track in between, or something. Meanwhile, back even that far, Oakenfold was playing complete sets of nothing BUT the types of tracks I listed. I was just wondering if any other DJs were doing that too, because I've never discovered any yet.

And when I said I was resisting Goa, what I meant was that I'm hesitant to just slap the label of "Goa" on the style I'm talking about, because while some of the tracks I listed are Goa, some of them are certainly not, so I just didn't want to over-generalize.

as far as i know, oakenfold was playing GOA back in 93 94. or that's when he was really promoting it through his commercial mixes.

i still don't get this "uk style". trance that was made by uk artists? trance that was played by uk dj's? because there was no "uk sound" of trance.

in the late 90's the popular kind of trance in the UK was epic trance. i guess that the popular kind of trance in the mid 90's was progressive trance, of the variety released on platipus. it's still not uk trance.
