Hmmm... There are a few stylistic slip-ups in your writing. I'll point them out in more detail later. But it did make me want to see the film

first off... hold your own grudge against this batmobile to yourself, but it doesn't mean that in general (and in also my own personal review) that the movie sucks because of it being in it...

and in addition, 60's style? what are you talking about?? if you are talking about the original Batman... that came out in 1989

Posted by Basstard on Jun-15-2005 15:34:

i think he's talking abt the original Batman series from the 60. Tim Burton's Batman wasnt the start of the guy

Noooo I know, the comics and TV series and so on... Geez I'm not totally uneducated

I'm curious as to the continuity of this movie, Like what year does it take place, Will it lead up to the first batman movie with the joker, Or this is an entirely re-imagining of the Batman franshise going on a different direction?

It's more that... I was talking with my other friend about this... Uhhh I don't want to spoiler it too much, but basically, it doesn't follow perfectly with Burton's Batman of 1989. The Joker is not the same guy in both films... however it leads in the sense that the "next villain" he'll encounter is joker... But I believe they are redoing it again to be its own franchise in its own direction, like Spider-Man's brilliant redoing (but it didn't have an original older movie series). I think it'll be great, especially with the success of this movie, so... yea... It's just kinda odd seeing only 16 years ago the first Batman movie be such a "cult classic" and yet now they are totally diverting from that and "starting again"... and its also odd that it's "AKA" Batman 5, when technically it is Batman 1 of a Series 2... Heh... Go see it Tiger!

I saw some interviews about the premiere of the movie, And the star of the movie says that, The movie itself is based more on the Batman Graphic Novels rather then the actual comics, Graphics Novels like Batman Year One, Are one of it's inspirations I believe.

Posted by DJ_Buddha on Jun-16-2005 00:37:

Would make sense... and I still loved it even so. I guess with the recent load of comic movies around, I'm definitely enjoying all of them from Graphic Novels... Spider-Man series, Hellboy (at least I liked it), this new Batman series, Fantastic Four looks good, Sin City was amazing, etc...

yea I totally agree... the music... holy crap, that bass beat that underscored the ENTIRE movie, I think that made it!! Every minute you could always hear it creeping and booming, it was always there. It "made" it cause you were always tense because of it, even if you didn't even think about listening to it!

Posted by idoru on Jun-16-2005 06:00:

The movie kicked ass. For me it doesn't beat the first two Batman movies, simply because I grew up with them and they will always be classics. However, it definitely beats the rest of the movies. I dunno what else to say other than it fucking rocked.

Agreed. The fight scenes were a little poor in that they were all close-up and fast, meaning you couldn't see anything, but the film as a whole was pretty good. Bale didn't disappoint as usual, and that Batmobile is kick-ass.

I thought that made the fight scenes kind of cool! They really gave the effect that in a fight with Batman, you wouldn't even know what hit you he was so fast and furious. It was better with less comic-book like violence, and more of what they had.

Really well made movie, they really showed the darkness behind Batman instead of corny comic-book stuff this time.

Perhaps you need to liven up the movie review on your site, says nothing about any bump in the movie. It's pretty lame. About as lame as the flowers and apes shit that follows...

Actually, it's my understanding that this movie was more true to the original comics than all of the previous movies.

amazing movie

Loved it, I like the new storyline.

I am anticipating another one, with the small cliffhanger ending.

I think they did that to show how mysterious he is. He is like the ninja, the darkness is his ally

Going to see it tomorrow at 3:30 with my old roommate and my girlfriend. Will report back with my take on things.

It's the darkness and gloomyness that's from the original comics. The movies up until now (barring the first two) were all crappy and really cheesy, absolutely nothing like the comics.
