the problem is not solved. Sweeping under the rug is not solving, there are those who like sigs, but not when they are too big.

along with the sig discussion, i created a sig within the TA limits that incorporates flash. its like 7kb but its sweet cause its interactive and everywhere where i can have html in my sig and i can embed it i get 10000 comments about it.

i wish i could have it on TA

dont make this a jibe against the "mods" - Swamper set those sig guidlines and asked us to enforce them, so any queries go direct to him. I'll link him to this thread.

How about compiling a list of all those that aren't meeting the requirements, write all their userids out in a post, one on each line, and it'll be reviewed.

I just want to clarify what qualifies as a banner ad? Granted, the "Maximize Your Revenue" in my sig was a low blow to TA, but those of us who DJ and use sigs to have images linking to our latest mixes, or to our own personal websites/myspaces/livejournals... Are those not banner ads, as well?

Given that you know what was a 'low blow to TA' you should also be able to tell what a 'banner ad' is... Look around at all the sigs, it isn't hard to tell what's acceptable and what isn't.

If it ever gets out of hand I'll just completely remove all promotional imagery in sigs that links to outside websites -- because some people don't know where to draw the line.
