Who's the most inspiring person for you?
I mean...when you're writing music...and if your inspiration is a person...who's that person?
girlfriend? that great girl you've met only once and never again and you dream of her every night? Your parents? Someone you adore for how they live and who they are? etc...
just want to know your thoughts...
you know there's this girl...I really really...like her (not love) but maybe I do...I don't know...she's like most inspiring person I've ever met. She's a junior journalist and she understands so well what is art about etc... She seems to be only one who can understand my musician being.
Now I had a writing block for like 6 months...and after talking to her for about 15 minutes I feel like I could write a complete symphony right now without too much thinking...
I just want to know if this does happen to you others, and if it does...who's this most inspiring person to you?
id have to say my girlfriend as she always supports my thinking even if others think its stupid.
always good to have someone who respects your thoughts.
me.

, but I love that he's honest and takes the time to listen.
Weird, I've never had a girlfriend that liked trance or much other electronic music. They seem to be really rare around here, or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.
Anyway, what I find most inspiring are the tracks of my favorite artists, not anybody I know in person.

Every track i've produced is about a girl..and now since i'm in a fantastic relationship..i've written her 3 tracks 2 of which are signed =].
MrJiveBoJingles,
It's not that you are not looking hard enough. I live in Dallas, and I've been in this scene since 1992. There just aren't that many people around here that are into EDM, especially trance. I used to get a lot of flak for playing trance when i was DJing regularly in the mid 90's, and it was the older stuff: Older BT, Hooj Choons, Jackpot, etc. I didn't really get my due until about 97 when the wider community started to embrace it, right about the time Hooj went to a more progressive house sound.
There just aren't a lot of people into the stuff in Texas (surprise, surprise!).
Being pissed off helps me write tunes. Not sure how, but I know I am making summet good if I start to calm down when I play it back.
As far as people, two of my trance mates, one who visits here writes sick melodies, and I am always thinking how I should focus more on melody like he does as appose the getting every detail right.
The second is a guy I know who DJs trance and is very good indeed, he don't know the first thing about producing though, which is useful because it allows me to think how people react to music when they have no idea how it is made, he provides a none producer point of view, and since he DJs he won't just say, "!yeah sound like a cool dance beat!one1, add a vocal11!".

Bt is the man
yeah, BT can be very inspiring at times...yeah
I don't say it's only persons inspiring me...sometimes it can be a little novel or whatever...or an artist, a track, a few words...a beautiful picture, or just a sound I came up with...
just you know...this girl...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaw...she's so hawt too...
well...ok, no more love threads in production studio...feel free to discuss more hahaha
If I knew what or who inspired me I'd be churning out tracks daily.

Well..
I tend to get inspired from video footages of Trance gigs, making videos and interviews, a lot.
